One of the five poll options doesn't even have a wide enough field for soccer, so I'd fully anticipate the goal is Bridgeview. Did they ever release anything about season ticket pricing? One of their initial emais/surveys said around $300, which is...steep for NISA.
I would love Arlington Park as an option. Rosemont comes in second. It would be great to have a soccer option that doesn't involve Soldier Field! For a second division team, build a following where current and future soccer fans live. This team is not MLS. Try building a team where there is a fertile ground for current and next generation soccer fans!
apparently not this season: Jeff Rueter @jeffrueter 2h Cosmos are on hiatus for reasons related to the pandemic, sources tell @TheAthleticSCCR .
Wait, they are NOT playing at Lincoln Yards? It had such a beautiful soccer stadium! It even had a Fire logo for a while. Oh, and it was totally not a "pipe dream." By the way, what is going on with the Lincoln Yards development? The City is committing a half a billion in TIFF funding, is any construction happening?
They had the cash and the will to do it, but Brian Hopkins let Lincoln Park NIMBYs kill it off and Sterling Bay didn't put up much of a fight after that. Ricketts had paid 5 mil to the USL for the expansion fee too.
Yep. I had lost track of the story after they put up the money for a USL (I think) team. Took a look and saw the stadium were totally gone from the plans.

Thanks for this. I'd forgotten about that meeting. Getting the 606 across the river in two years seems like a really aggressive timeline given that it'll require a new bridge across Ashland and some way across the river. (not really surprised they only responded to a couple submitted questions. I was at the meetings for the 78 down in the South Loop, and the public comment section was straight up unhinged)

"The House that Wilt Built" gets to host Wilt's new team. That has a nice symmetry to it, doesn't it? So, assuming there are fans this season, how many games with this team outdraw either the Fire or the Red Stars this season?
I know double headers can be a pain in some ways, but I would love to see a couple of them with the Red Stars.
The Ricketts were a totally different project. They were the USL project that died when the Lilcoln Yards stadium was nixed.
