Have they improved their defensive shape? It seems that was their Achilles heel?

The defense is more organized, but no, they haven't really improved defensively. If any it's the same as last season. High Press, flood the midfield, counter with pacey strikers.

Also Mojica is not really getting as much playing time as you would think. It seems Gasperini may not like him. At least from my observation

Mojica was really bad when he played, although its difficult to come in from another team without a big pre season and learn a system like the one Atalanta uses. I don't think he would have played so early if it wasn't for injuries, but I don't think he's a good fit for this Atalanta system and I was surprised they picked him up tbh.

Yeah it's hard to defend Mojica, he's been so bad.

Very good game from Atalanta, they basically outplayed Milan for most of the match. Duvan played very well and if it wasn’t for Ilicic’s selfishness and Romero’s monster match, he would have been MOTM. Romero basically manhandled Ibra, scored a goal and assisted Duvan.

He’s also extremely one footed. A lot of chances he missed and passes he denied had to do with him having to switch to his strong side.

Ilicic back healthy and playing at this level is the only way that Atalanta will do anything this season. I don't think he's that selfish, he is a little shot happy but he creates so many shots where players wouldn't be able to get them off. Everything goes through Ilicic and honestly it works, Duvan played really well overall and Atalanta dominated them.

Cut such a frustrated figure when he came on today. It's like up 3-0 Atalanta shut down mentally entirely.

Zapata kept coming to the perimeter to keep possession and two or three times no one made the run in behind to provide a passing Target in the box.
