I was a massive fan of Victor Moses, gutted when he switched, good player but inconsistent throughout his career.
He waited for the callup for a few years from what I remember but he never got the call. Similar to zaha
Moses rejected Nigeria on several occasions, probably switched as he barely got picked for England u21s, and switched.
If memory serves me right, that’s basically why he chose Nigeria, basically ignored by Pearce and seem to even vaguely remember his agent saying England was his first choice but couldn’t see a future after being ignored for so long or something like that.
Armando Broja having a good season on loan with Vitesse. Won three Nations league caps with Albania but then stopped being included in their squad for no apparent reason after that so still eligible to switch under the new nationality rules, and we don't have a lot of young strikers coming through performing at his level so still could be an option.
Hes only turned 19. Never played a first team game before his first cap. Another example of small football nations (like wales) capping youngsters to tie them to one country. This is my pet peeve. Understandable in Albanias circumstances but still wrong

I think the chances of him switching to us is probably non existent to be honest even though technically he still can but wouldn’t count on him doing a Rice.
Yes he played in October up to his three game limit but then wasn't in the squad at all for their last two Nations matches but was playing for Vitesse either side of those games so he would still be able to switch. He actually started for Vitesse a day after that squad was published . I don't know if he has been approached though, but certainly should be based on good form in Holland , and being English born and raised.
Is there something different about our mentality in general with regard to Dual Nationality players compared to other Countries? Just something I’ve observed recently on social media especially with Musah and Musiala In this case but noticed it with fans of other Countries in the past. In this instance it’s the fans of the USA and Germany that are basically bombarding these kids everytime they make a post about anything with flags of their Countries and messages like play for USA and Germany and comments like that in a similar manor. In contrast, you hardly see any English making these same gestures and I’m not really sure why? Obviously there are a few but nowhere near the number of other Countries. Is it a case that we just don’t really care if we lose players or are we to proud to beg for players to chose us? Would we rather leave the decision up to the individual without added peer pressure to bully that person into playing for that Country. Obviously it’s not anything really important but just something I’ve wondered about and if our stance helps us keep players or could lose us players and I wonder if the players in question take any notice of passionate fans begging for their allegiance.
Because smaller nations don't produce their own players alot of the time. They rely on dual players like Nigeria wales etc. Whereas England are confident enough in their own standing to know that up and coming youngsters see it as a dream or honour to play for England. We don't need to go cap in hand to these players. Yet when we look at a player born outside England. Their home country's fans go ballistic that we dare try pinch one of their own. Wales are the biggest example
Yeah that’s a fair point, the other week I had to explain to my mate who Musiala was as he didn’t know and he’s a big Liverpool and England senior team fan. Doesn’t really have much interest in the Youth teams in the way we do here and that could be like the majority of England fans.
According to the Germany thread, it sounds like Musiala is going to opt to play for Germany according to Bild. I can’t find any sources myself but I’m damn sure their German is a hell of a lot better than mine to find out this information however it sounds like the influence of the German players at Bayern is paying off. I wouldn’t be at all surprised in all honesty if this happens but can’t really understand why he would opt to play for the U21’s for one game.
Let me add. We CANNOT keep allowing this to happen to young dual nationals. Twice if it happens is pretty poor. With the other lad going with America as well. It stinks. Fair enough hes german. Playing in Germany. I've no problem with the musiala situation in that respect
It’s not concrete with either to be fair, it’s just what they have seen or read in the German press so probably better to await confirmation but in the long run, I think most of us just presumed we would lose him anyway. Musah would be more of a surprise than Musiala. Like we have talked before, we will lose a lot of Duals from now on just like we have always done except this time the quality is going to be much higher due to more quality we have coming through. There’s really nothing much we ( The FA ) can do about it unfortunately except try and keep the best players.
its a Bild+ article talking about him signing 5 year pro contract at 18 and it mentions that his convos/talks with Bayern German players have made him tend towards dfb. Since he's provisionally capped by England, can only play dfb if he does permanent 1 time switch. although to answer your question, it says he tends to dfb for Seniors. For longest time, it was said that Musiala wanted to play England YNT but that he never made final choice aka which Seniors and that was months ago. Musiala never looked interested in playing dfb youth since he started in England Youth. And in past it was said that he wanted to play 1 tourney with his English friends due to covid scrapping 03s U17 he never got chance. Him playing England U21 was 3 months ago, a lot can happen in that time too. Also at end of day, its up to each individual to decide. I'm wait and see on whole thing and can't wait for him to make final choice, whatever that may be and close topic for good.
