Transfer info: Sayama Momoko (Shizuoka - Sanfre) Omiya set the team name as Omiya Ardija VENTUS, and got several players from Jumonji.
Oh, interesting: so this also means that Ohno retires from played football, or could she carve for herself a role of coach/player?
Ohno held position as technical coach in INAC from March 2020. I guess she's no longer an active player. Dunno if she helds any minor coaching license (B or C class) but working with Sasaki for sure will get her lots of experience. In couple of years she may be one of the candidates attending JFA's A-Pro course.
We sort of got spoiled being able to watch all Nadeshiko League 1 games on the u tube channel last season. Do we know if we are going to be able to watch WE League games?
That's a good question. I'd expect a well worked TV deal beeing paramount in future success of any pro-League. The aim in first place is obviously to attract people to the stadiums.Unfortunatelly now it has to be put on hold cuz of pandemic - which makes good league TV/media coverage all that much important.
Transfer info: Aya Sameshima (INAC Kobe Leonesa -> Omiya Ardija Ventus) Miyu Yakata (Cerezo Osaka Sakai -> Mynavi Sendai)
I agree they need a television deal, but I am unsure how much money they can get from one. In an ideal world it would be nice to have one match a week on television and the rest available for streaming. This past season was amazing for coverage, but I have no idea how much money - if any - they generated from live streaming. All I know is I think it is better that all games are made available for viewing, even if it is 48 hours after the match. They don't have to be live, though that would be great. All I know is I don't want it to become like the Spanish League, which pretty much only televises Atletico and Barcelona games. Just before Christmas Gol.com had the rights to one of Yoko's games. They went to the match, filmed it but did not televise the game nor put it up on Youtube delayed. All you got were the highlights! It is crazy! I know they want people to go to the games, but it costs quite a lot of money for somebody like me to get to every game because I do not live in greater Tokyo. I just hope the games are available to be viewed delayed.

Hey!!!! Are they depleting INAC of all of my favourite players (ok, except Narumiya), so I am forced to root for Omiya instead of INAC???? Well, basically what's happening is that for years we were used to quite stable rosters in Nadeshiko League and, except for the occasional "big transfer", we had the luxury of growing accustomed to the same line-ups for every team and of growing affectioned to the teams sporting our favourite players. Looks like the start of the professional league, and especially the introduction of some new teams (while others get confined to the lower divisions) changed all of these dynamics and we should expect more and more unexpected signings in the next times. For instance, it sounds like Omiya Ardija Ventus is "the new INAC", thus I'll have to get more information about this team, beyond the presence of Sasaki & Ohno.
In light of these transfers the recent announcements on the INAC Twitter feeds make sense. They announced which players they had secured contracts with (Ito, Hina, Takase, etc) and I was wondering when I would see Sameshima. A lot mixing up happening....
Watching Aston Villa atm. I don't want to judge after seeing only one game but so far they look like a team weaker than Ehime FC. 73' Iwabuchi debuts atagainst Bristol in Conti Cup 76' she creates goalscoring chance from pass to teammate
81' Iwabuchi situational shot from rebound saved on the line by defender 84' Goal for Villa, still Bristol leads 2-1 95' FT Bristol 2-1 Aston Villa Match of two teams sitting in League at the bottom of the table had some grit and fight in it... but seriously in terms of passing and possesion both teams rarely could string 4 or 5 passes. Lot of aimless ball chasing. Villa's veteran CB Anita Assante cost them the game. Both Bristol goals are on her, third didn't happen only because GK brilliant save. If it wasn't one time bad day at the office then I don't see Villa win any games wit such liability at the back.

Just wow! What a mixing up of players, this year, with the new professional league! I guess we're seeing more high-profile transfers than we've seen in the previous 5 seasons combined! So, with Stambaugh signed by Omiya, obviously INAC didn't think Takenaka could be enough (and, having recently seen her play in Empress' Cup, I basically agree: she was a promising GK in the beginning of her career, but in my opinion she plateaud on a mediocre level). And what Beleza are going to do? They will settle with the young GK who played in Empress' Cup for them (can't remember the name right now)? Or are we going to see some other interesting move from them to differently cover the GK role?
She (Nishimura) retired; empress's cup final was her final game. Maybe Tanaka Momoko will return, of course then possibly not enough though.
