Juve plays again in 2 weeks in the Coppa, at least it’s home again.

We still keep giving up a record amount of goals...this team defense is in shambles and unable to keep a clean sheet...time to make some defensive moves to replace chiellini and Bonucci.

And yet we are tied for the best Goals Against in the league.

I think with this new era we may have to adjust our views on defensive prowess. No one is playing defense like classic Italian defenses anymore.

And our midfield is still not closing players down like they need to. That is partly lack of quality and also tactical as we are pressing all over the field which can result in a poor defensive shape when we lose the ball or go for an interception and miss.

Also, more teams are attacking us this year than ever before. Even lower level teams are doing it. We look a lot more vulnerable to teams that come to play us than ones who park the bus.

These two things are the main reasons. All of the top teams are giving up goals now more than ever. Bayern are giving up goals to any and everybody, Liverpool had 7 put past them by Aston Villa, Man City shipped 5 against Leicester City, Barca gave up 3 to us and 3 to Atletic Bilbao.

IMO, the game has changed a lot and those are the teams that are winning not just domestically, but continental/internationally. With that said, teams seem to cut through our press quite easily with the eye test. However, I believe I saw that we statistically, press effectively.

Cuadrado has recovered from covid. No idea if he can be called for this match but I doubt it. Either way, he should be back this weekend

So he is persisting with Bentancur. Think that’s a bad move. What’s the betting he gets a card in the first 45 mins.

Mario Rui goes down easier than a $2 hooker, what a dive by him just now.

Good first half, Juve were definitely the better team. Let’s just hope they can bury one of their chances.

At least they appear to be playing with more urgency that we saw from them this past weekend.
