A few database sites say things to the effect that there's a Brazilian-born '02 named Henrique Bueno who is also Italian and American and was playing at youth level in Portugal as recently as 2019/20. Here's an example:

    https://www.zerozero.pt/player.php?id=654278

If you follow a few breadcrumbs there are some indications that he might indeed be at least part-American (on what appear to be family members' social accounts and other records, for example) and some highlight videos.

Also an old photo on an Estoril Praia roster page:

But it's not clear to me if he has a team this season, among other things.

USL listed him as an American, so I had set up a thread in YAA for him. Really good chance that that's erroneous, but I usually accept if the club or league says he is a citizen.

Based on that video, it would seem odd that the kid isn't with a team currently, he's got some serious chops. Kid plays with some swagger as well.

Based on some social media stuff, he may be back in Brazil, though I don't know if he's with a club.

Wilson seems to be Liberian (I believe he has played for them) and Swedish. Maybe somebody at a database site read a flag wrong or something. Could he also be American? Sure, but I haven't seen any support for that.

HERBIE JAMES is a 2006 attacker with MANCHESTER CITY's academy. He lived in the US from age 4 to 9, but has lived abroad since then. He is interested in representing the US, but I don't know if it is possible for him to get citizenship now since he isn't in the US anymore, and I know nothing about US immigration law. Does anybody here know if he could become eligible to play for USA in the future? I think he is a top prospect.

Doesn’t seem likely unless one of his parents is a US citizen...

Take a bow, @ChuckMe92. This is confirmed -- he has an American mother, according to his club. Thread-starting honors are all yours!

Possible yank at getafe? Through some social media sleuthing i was able to find out that he lists Texas as his home, and he’s pictured in multiple places in the US although no confirmation he has citizenship, also eligible for Mexico, 2002 birth year

Seems (based on a few hype site posts) to be born in Mexico. Evidently he got there with the help of a company called Ekra that doesn't appear to have a heavy U.S. focus, though I may have missed it. But who knows, worth trying to find out more! Well spotted.

One likely, but still needing confirmation:

Andrew Andrade (18, RW/RB) is a Brazilian-American at Portimonense S.C. in the Primeira Liga

Well spotted by the tweeter. This database site backs up the birthplace, but the family history is a nice extra detail.

He apparently moved to second-division Marineros and has been playing for them. That will hopefully at some point make it easier to track the guy down, since his presumed father also played for Herediano, among other clubs.

Is anyone else having the same issues I am with the LigaMX.net site? Here's what I'm seeing: When I search a player, like say Ventura Alvarado, like this:

    ventura alvarado site:ligamx.net

His result comes up first, as you'd expect. But when I click it, even though a unique page ID comes up, I end up on what seems like a landing page that has nothing to do with Alvarado.

    https://ligamx.net/cancha/jugador/75431

Maybe that stuff is like an overlay that I can close, but I don't understand enough Spanish to figure out how to do it.

I also see that you can access cached versions of player pages, such as:

    https://webcache.googleusercontent....ancha/jugador/75431+&cd=2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

So that's sort of useful. But not so much if you're trying to use Google to quickly search for new American players using this site, which used to be a great tool for that purpose.

The usually reliable site 90minut says Stal Mielec's '03 Michael Wyparlo was born in New York.

    http://stalmielec.com/i-zespol/

    So does T'Markt.

    https://www.transfermarkt.de/michael-wyparlo/profil/spieler/858521

I haven't seen it reported anywhere, and some database sites say he was born in Poland, so I'm not really sure.

He appears to be the son of Stal's GK coach Bogusław Wyparło, who had a long pro career in Poland and a few cups of coffee (and caps) with their MNT. He was playing in Poland around the time, if not at the specific time, that Michael was born.

    https://nowiny24.pl/jaki-ojciec-tak...-ich-slady-zdjecia/ga/c2-15037826/zd/43927554

This full article (in Polish) is paywalled, but the snippet at the top, translated by Google, tells a brief tale about how, it appears, Michael once told his dad to buzz off with the soccer advice, because he was a GK, so what would he know? Kids today, man!
