Pelosi has Trump to thank. He set it up beautifully for her.

I can't decide: CSPAN for the house shitshow or CSPAN2 for the senate shitshow. DVR both?

I saw a now deleted tweet thread from a " former Secret Service agent" (no idea if true, internet blah blah blah) who said you aren't going to see Trump forcibly removed because they don't want to put Trump's protection team in a position where they might have to "protect" Trump against fellow SS agents. The guy claimed what they would do instead is prevent anyone from entering the President's residence and basically force Trump to leave once he ran out of food or needed to be felated by his adoring sycophants.

If Trump is essentially 'trespassing' in the WH and refuses to cede power, he's essentially committing a crime, and his secret service detail in effect would not be bound to protect him anymore. Pretty sure they would step down if it came to that...

You would hope, but somehow Trump gets people to commit their loyalty to him - him personally, not the office of the President - at the cost of their own careers.

That's not true. Their job is to protect the President and that will be their priority. Once that is done, the agents will file their reports and testify against him in a trial.

The Secret Service work for the country not any particular individual. I can understand that there may be certain attachments that form over a period of time. But their duty is not to abide by someone breaking the law. It's pretty straightforward stuff really...

As of January 20 at noon Eastern, Trump won't be the President any more, so you would think they would stand down, except, somehow, Trump gets people to commit career suicide for him.

I mean, that's how it should work, but somehow when it comes to Trump, that's not how it works. As evidence, I present dozens of members of Congress who took an oath to uphold the Constitution who will be shitting all over the Constitution and breaking their oath today when they object to the ceremonial counting of the Electoral College votes.

I keep saying "somehow" because I don't understand it. Trump is repulsive in every way. I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire. But somehow he gets people to do things for him, at the cost of their own reputation and frequently their career.

By the way, the moving team starts boxing up and flipping the WH residence about 10:30am on the 20th. They have 5 hours to prep it for the next president. Biden will arrive that afternoon to a residence (over 20K sq ft) that's been completely prepared for him and his family, down to their preferred shampoo and toothpaste, as well as a newly set Oval Office.

Trump can't just wander the hallways until noon. That is unless he wants to help box up his shit.

They aren't abiding him. They would be advising him against his actions and telling him that whatever he's doing makes their job more difficult, that they will be notifying their superiors of what he's doing, and they will be testifying against him. But they literally can't abandon him. This has been covered quite a few times by former SS agents. They obviously can't help him perform an illegal act, but they can still protect him.

Secret Service protects former Presidents as well. Those people wearing blacksuits and sunglasses standing around Presidents Carter, Clinton, Bush II, and Obama? Those are Secret Service agents. It would suck for them, for sure, but allowing Trump to get hurt would be worse for their careers than the alternative.

Again, and you can look it up, it's really not that complicated. In this situation, if Trump refuses to remove himself from office, his detail are not bound to stay by his side any longer. Secret Service actually has the ability to forcibly remove him if it comes down to it.
Secret Service works ultimately for the United States, not for Trump. His detail will not stand against US Marshals or other members of the Secret Service to protect him in a case such as this, where he refuses to cede power he has legally lost in the election.

One of the podcasts I was listening to the other day had an advert from CSPAN promoting gavel to gavel coverage of these hearings. It literally laughed out loud that CSPAN was adverting for their coverage.

Absolutely. I've had enough Jewish roommates to learn how the cabal operates. Believe you me, they're all in it together.

My phone was LIT last night. I hadn't had so many texts from Israel since November, when we did the election and decided to send Wonder Woman 1984 to streaming so Jews had a new movie to watch on 12/25.
