I'm not. Because it would mean drama and chaos, and I'm not sure how Biden will handle it. Does he show up and get to work? Does he not occupy the same space?

It will be two more weeks of the same. I think. I'm a bit more worried about what will happen on the streets of DC today.
While it will be entertaining to watch, it is worrying. One thing that came up yesterday, and has previously, in my conversations with my mom is that she, as a lefty, does not see the Republicans actions as seriously attempting to undermine democracy. She is looking at it as more of a stunt or silliness or stupidity than anything serious. And she is somebody who came of age, politically, during the latter days of Malcolm X and MLK Jr, Vietnam, and the fall of Nixon. She is somebody who saw the descent downwards, but then saw US politics as being robust. I understand that, but she is also being blinded by the lack of support Nixon had (in Congress) and not seeing that Individual One does not have the same lack of support (in Congress). This support Individual One as in Congress is troubling because they - both the House and Senate - are not rising above the foolish and destructive populism. And are actually partaking in the destructive populism. What happens in the next two Presidential elections will tell us a lot (not who runs, but who wins).

Osoff and Warnock ran a very smarty nimble and effective campaign too. Their state tours buses were a great move, they were constantly on the offense, attacking the corruption of their rivals and using the $ 2000 as a massive wedge issue. They ran as a tight team as well. Kudos to them.

PS. A unsung hero on this, Nancy Pelosi who jumped on the $2000 opening right away and hammered the Republicans on it. Nancy is a master tactician!

In many respects the run off helped the Dems because it isolated the campaign and made it about these big national issues.

Nah....he will decamp the 18 or 19 and establish his Winter WH at Mar-A-Lago. By then as well, most of staffers will have left the WH compound as well.

I agree with @charlie15 on Pelosi. That is a really shitty take. She has been great. Yes, it is time for her to step aside, but her change from the 114th Congress to the 115th Congress was pretty stark and very smart. Schumer, I kind of agree with. He is not a good foil for McConnell.

Purdue lost because this recount was on the same day as Loeffler's. I think if his was separate and might have been hard but with so many people coming out for warnock cuz they hate loffler, ossoff just Rode that wagon and that's where it got him.

Osoff did more than ride the wagon. He ran a very good campaign against an incumbent and much stronger opponent.

Of course, but I still don't think he would have won if it had just been Ossof v Perdue.
