If you have access to Connect, just about all the La Liga matches are available (except simultaneous games) on La Liga TV (which used to be Connect 3) with the international feed announcers.
Which begs the question. What in the hell are they paying these people for? That would be the equivalent of having the option of amazon delivering you a new really nice television or paying your neighbor more money for their old tv that sucks. And choosing your neighbor’s shitty tv!
This has been the perennial issue with American networks showing international soccer, opting for their inferior "talent" over the (for the most part) highly professional, knowledgeable international feed announcers, mainly I guess so they can flog other programming on the network and develop a brand or an identity.
Finally caught up with this duo watching last Saturday's PSG-Dijon match and oh boy. Kyle isn't horrible but she's way too loud, almost shouting her commentary. And Schoen as usual just will never shut up. God forbid there goes more than a second or two without someone speaking.
Anybody else notice that BEIN Sports XTRA is now on Sling TV? That is great because now you can DVR games.
NBC is even worse at this. They sometimes have Arlo White and Co announce two matches on the same afternoon/evening! I mean the money and effort put in to the whole operation, only to have an inferior end product..... smh
Arlo White and co sound like a young Martin Tyler and Andy Gray compared to the high school broadcasting slop that Bein tries to present as commentators.
That's great because I originally got Sling so I could DVR BeIN Connect matches, and then they pushed everything over to Xtra so now there's hardly anything on Connect.
Tuned in at 11 am today because beIN had a live league match from Turkey scheduled, but instead found that they are showing the final of the Emir's Cup (Qatar). The Turkish league game ca still be viewed on the Spanish network.
Anyone who watched the Emir’s Cup would have gotten a glimpse of how much better Bein is in places like Qatar and France. The presentation was so much more slick, proper announcers and studio analysis. I pray that one day someone in Qatar sees the Mickey Mouse bullshit we are getting here in the US and catches us up to what they are getting in the middle east.
I occasionally see some of my twitter acquaintances stumble upon an online stream of the american beIN when they're hunting for a barça, etc stream and they are in awe of how cringe it is.
I tried to watch some of the Besiktas match yesterday and it seriously sounded like the announcers (I think George DeMetellis and Kaylin Kyle) were watching the match together and discussing it over the phone. Next level garbage.
I can see not being in the stadium or even the studio due to covid but the content of what they were doing was appalling. Like high school kids watching a soccer match on a couch. Negative insight.
What I've found annoying is the trend to use their "talent" on more and more matches. It used to be they'd only roll them out for Barca, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and PSG matches (the PSG matches they showed live, that is). Now they're on about 3/4 of Spanish matches and I have to constantly seek out LaLigaTV caps to watch without having to listen to these clowns. (Of course those who have Connect access can watch those matches live on LaLigaTV, but for those of us who like to watch days later, that's not an option)
How are the bein connect channels that you access on the beinsports website through your tv provider these days? I remember them being unreliable as hell a few years ago before Directv dropped the bein channels. I switched to Sling TV to watch bein the last few years, and the connect channels are flawless on there. I am switching to FiosTV next week, and going to cancel Sling since I can get bein through my tv package again.
It is probably better to use a new Chromecast and just run the BeIN Connect channels through the app (sideload apk or casting)
Tuned into tomight's Copa Libertadores semifinal (River Plate v Palmeiras) and noted four different audio feeds between the two beIN channels. beIN - English (beIN announcers) SAP: Portugese. beIN en Espanol - Spanish SAP: English (World Feed). I am thrilled to be able to listen to the World Feed rather than the local beIN guys
