With the lack of a pure CF, I expect Wes to be spending a lot of time in the opponents 18. Hoping he grabs a goal or assist.

Hoping the most in-form USMNT player abroad can have another great outing.

How did he do? Saw he got subbed fairly early but that also could have been because of his early yellow card.

Il Westono Makeni, francamente, un pò brutto oggi... he'll still get starts.

Not really. Juve is not in a position to tolerate a player who loses form.

Which I don't think is the case with Wes, yet.

you seem to imply theres some high likelihood...when his abilities and traits as a player make that scenario extremely unlikely. hes valued for things that he will o even if not "in form"...theres no chance of what youre talking about actually happening.

What dip in form are we speaking of exactly? He was subbed off cause of the early yellow, a big lead, and AC Milan in 2 days.

This is what I was looking to hear. I feel like others automatically assume a player did poorly if they were subbed off early.

Although, McKennie does have an insane amount of stamina so hopefully it’s because one more foul would have bought him a 2nd yellow.

He had some really good combination plays, started the play that led to a goal (which was called back). He had 97% pass completion, 1 key pass. Only one tackle. Not a stellar outing but not bad by any means.

I feel like Wes is the USMNT player abroad who's game suffers the most when on a yellow. He got a couple of fouls after the yellow and I was happy that he was subbed. He will be needed mid-week in what is a HUGE game.

At any rate, it was not his best game and I think the yellow had something to do with that but I feel like he can be counted on to make the passes in tight spaces now for the most part and that was my major concern after the 1st few games. He is really growing as an offensive player which was made evident in that combination play he made up the middle. That was a thing of beauty.

He's developing into a very nice 8 in Serie A.

A midfield trio of Pulisic, Weston, and Adams for the USMNT is quite nice.

Yeah, I suspect it had something to do with this tackle:

    Juventus.v.Udinese.001160379.jpg

This was when he was already on a yellow. Pirlo probably thought that he'd seen enough red cards in the past few weeks to take any chances. He got pulled in the 64th minute, at the next opportunity.

TBF, Wes was starting to look gassed at this point anyway. He did a ton of running, in the first half especially.

He used to be able to go 90 minutes/game; I guess he is starting to wear down given the frequency of starts.

Playing every 3 days for almost 2 months will def. have some effects like that. Just means he will put on a show against top of the table Milan Wednesday.

I really hope the Tottenham rumor is not legit. He’s coming along very nicely in Serie A. I’ve been watching a lot of it on espn +. The league is rejuvenated.

The only way Tottenham gets Wes is if Juventus' interest in Wes is fleeting and Spurs are willing to spend the money. I agree Juventus is the better situation for Wes for now. It's amazing he is arguably considered to be Juventus' most valuable midfielder though many will suggest this is more an indictment of Juventus midfield than praise for Wes.

That is a good point. Covid can have some lasting (hopefully not permanent) effects.

I still feel it's irresponsible to have re-started the leagues, spectators or not.

If in 5 years we have a bunch of ex-players who had to retire early due to long-term effects, who will be blamed?

I doubt physical activity will adversely affect long-term effects of COVID-19 in infectees. Physical activity often helps enhance immune system response and overall physical wellbeing.

I suppose it is possible COVID-19 overstimulates the immune system response which seems to have catastrophically acute effects with certain populations but long-term effects are still being evaluated.

It's normal for everyone to want to return to "life as usual" pre-COVID despite the potential health risks. Futbol fans, players, media, owners et al are not immune to this.

Well, you should probably at least take the time to read up on "long-haul COVID" before expressing your doubts in a public forum.
