We need to keep the ball away from the goalie on corners When we have scored from them it's usually been deep
LOL. It's been 43 minutes into the match, mate. Let's assess. So far, so good. 1. We typically play well for 50-60 minutes and take our foot off the pedal. 2. We were up 1-0 against Wolves not too far back and wound up losing. 3. We still don't look extremely convincing, especially through the midfield. 4. Everything is going down our left side, and Villa will alter. WIll we?
Similar vibe to a lot of our play during the restart. Mostly poor, lack of control in midfield, good individual play bailing us out. Jorginho is utterly useless. CHO mostly starved for the ball but doing well when he gets it. Sad that we have two really good wingers yet no decent distribution of the ball from midfield.
Solid start from Chelsea. Giroud looking decent. CHO and Pulisic looking decent. Villa are a very fit and strong team.
No surprise the goal came from the flanks given our ceding of most of the middle of the pitch. Villa are a good side and making it hard for us to impose ourselves on the game. Pulisic is not doing much with the ball in dangerous areas, still doesn't look as sharp as before. OG was quiet but, as a proper pro, he showed up when called upon.
It's rare pundits are accurate, so when they are, it sticks out. After looking like a pub team against Arsenal, you'd expect our team to be running through walls. Instead, it looks exactly like our match against Wolves. We look too happy to be doing the same old thing.
They take out one of the CBs and then take advantage. It was obviously a foul by that cheering barsteward
Ah.. a Jorginho giveaway in the middle of our own half. Off to the gym I go. Crossfit-ish place near me has a great set up. Limited capacity, everyone gets their own equipment in their own square, several feet away from anyone else. Been a nice respite from the 'rona.
It's ironic that we played the type of balls down the left flank in behind that Timo would have loved
