Not qualifying for the Copa Libertadores the past couple of seasons will put a cap on how much the team is willing to spend. They will miss out on approximately 7m in revenue. I wonder who Liga will sell. Guerra was linked to a team in Mexico over the summer. Muñoz maybe? Julio? They will make a move I'm sure.
It sucks how much Emelec went from making moves and being on top to this. IMO now is the time to start making move and getting players Leonel Quinonez, Bryan Angulo, ,Luis Leon, Miller Bolanos, Jonthan Perlaza, Ayrton Preciado, Manuel Balda, Jonathan Borja, Erick Ferigra, Janner Corozo, Fernando Gaibor, Jordy Caicedo, Denilson Bolanos are all players I would go for now if I were Emelec. They are rumored to be after Angel Gracia and Washington Corozo. I hope Liga could get Munoz, Julio, and Guerra into a good team they deserve to make the jump to El Exterior.
Fabrizio Romano mentioned the possible transfer via Twitter today. He's a good source. He confirmed Manchester United is interested in Caicedo.
Leonel Quinonez is going to BSC. They have been connected to some of the other players though. We need to add a couple of decent players though. We came close this year. With the right additions we can contend next year.
Same thing happened with Moises Corozo and he ended up in Liga. Emelec really needs a solid Left Back and right. If Emelec and Leonel are smart they would both go for it. Leonel would have that starting LB spot easy in Emelec. BSC doesnt really need him.
I don't recall Emelec ever being connected to Leonel which is odd because that's the primary position where an upgrade is needed. Gracia and Jonathan Perlaza have been linked to Emelec. I'm not sure why BSC is going after Leonel. They have Pineida. Velasco can also play there.
Angelo Preciado was announced by Genk. I don't know much about the Belgian league but they've produced some interesting players. He'll play champions/europa league so that's a plus. It's only a matter of time before it's announced where Moises Caicedo will play. Joao Rojas is another player to keep an eye on. Luis Fernando Leon too. Both have been linked to a move to Liga MX or MLS.
He would be a perfect solution to your LB position it a shame he not even rumored for Emelec. Jonathan Perlaza can play LB too but I like more on the lw. Gracia isn't a permanent solution I respect the season he having but don't think he would be a long term solution for Emelec. They need to go for bigger more proven name I havent been a fan of alot of their signing in the past few seasons. Alot of their signing have failed now they have all these players under contact loaned out. Honestly I think they should go for some of the Guayaquil City Foreigners Micheal Hoyos and Lucas Sosa I feel would be a nice fit id even go the extra for mastriani and the other players I mentioned before.
The Belgian league is a great league for our players to adapt to Genks Is a good team so I would be really happy with that move. I hope Joao makes the jump even if it is MLS and I hope Leon stays in MX to even tho a move to Emelec or IDV wouldn't be bad either.
If Joao is going to evolve as a player then now's the time for him to go to el exterior. Leon needs consistent minutes. If a Liga MX team can offer him a starting spot then great. If not then Emelec and IDV would be good fits. It's interesting that IDV is interested in bringing him back. They have Schunke and Segovia. Pacho is also an interesting young player. Maybe Preciado and Caicedo wont be the only ones who get sold by them.
Leon would have gotten consistent playing time in his team had it not been for Covid and that one long injury he had. His team is being a little hard in letting him go but I am sure any other MX team will give him playing time. IDV tends to completely dismantle their team and sell a ton of players. Which is not bad but if they want to come back strong for this years Copa Libertadores it would be good for them to have a player like Leon back in their team. Segovia could also make the jump he has been rumored for MLS, Argentina and MX in the past hopefully a team in one of these league takes him he has potential but is inconsistent and makes a lot of mistakes some times.
Washington Corozo is being linked to PSV and Real Betis. Dam that would amazing if he lands one of these teams.
He didn't get called up to the NT because he was playing in Peru. He performed well in that league. If he goes to a competitive league abroad then for sure he gets called up. The left winger spot is wide open. Holland would be a good fit for Corozo.
This is gonna be a promising transfer windows for us I know it we are gonna have a number of big transfers coming up soon.
I hope they go to teams where they'll get playing time. We have some important games in 2021. I'd hate to see a repeat of the 2018 qualifiers. There were several elements that led to the collapse but one factor was that multiple several key players were transferred to teams where they weren't getting playing time and as such their form declined.
Agree but I think we will have enough seeds of players of to the point where that won't be too much of an issue. Also I think Alfaro will do a good job at switching players having back up and making changes when needed.
Ecuador's depth is by far superior at the moment that's for sure. If anything it can even get better. I said this a couple of months back but I remember when we only had like 3 or 4 players that played abroad. Ecuador has definitely grown. I hope we maintain our form in the qualifiers. I also hope that we have a good showing in the Copa America. Lots of people will still stay that we only win because we play in Quito.
The Rueda days are behind us so im not worried about us heavily realying on injured/ out of form players with little playing time. With the amount of scouting done by Alfaro I know we will have options, depth and a competative team. Our talent pool will def grow with this transfer window.
One thing I like about Alfaro is that he's observed the young players coming up. He's attended the sub20 and 17 microciclos organized by Celico. The two of them seem to be working well. I can't recall if Rueda or Quinteros were at all involved with the youth setup. There's some players in the sub20 nt that will emerge and be options for the senior nt in a year or two. I imagine Alfaro already has an idea as to who he may be able to count on. This transfer window will be critical for us. If our players go to teams abroad and perform well then that may lead to more foreign teams being interested in our players. Ecuadorean players as a whole are less expensive than brazilian or argentinean players. Teams are always on the lookout for inefficiencies in the market.
Players aboard that could potentially come back to Ecuador. Miller Bolanos Anderson Julio Erick Castillo Luis Leon Steven Plaza Cristian Penilla Ayrton Preciado Romario Ibarra Jonathan Perlaza Jonathan Borja Jordy Caicedo Joao Plata John Narváez Manuel Balda Kevin Mercado Jonathan Betancourt
Brighton are confident they have beaten Newcastle United to the signing of Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo from Independiente del Valle. (Talksport)Chelsea and Manchester United were among a host of Premier League sides interested in 19-year-old Caicedo, who is likely to be loaned out by the Seagulls. (Mail)
Contingent on Plata successfully completing a loan spell, I think he could and should get sold soon. Unfortunately, the Sporting system doesn't seem to be the best fit for his talents. That being said, Valencia is an exciting option. Let's see if he gets picked up.... https://www.futbolecuador.com/site/...cia-pretende-fichar-ya-a-gonzalo-plata/124512
As I understand it, the amount of people entering the Moises Caicedo transfer negotiations made United run away....admittedly, I would, too. It starts to look shady. Unfortunately the only issue that seems to have arisen with the possible transfer to United was the amount of unsavory people making the deal seem dodgy. A lesson for all ecua clubs....keep the negotiation table free and clean from multiple agents or opinions. Good luck to him at Brighton if he signs there...at least he will get playing time, and maybe this will be similar to what happens w/ Pervis.
