Wave are sitting out this year. First time they won't play a season

UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena stated they didn't expect any public events until next fall, so I'm likely not seeing the Milwaukee Admirals playing either.

I've been told that the Nashville Predators pay for the hockey operations and they do have modest TV money, so the AHL teams may be able to survive play without fans.

As much as it pains me to admit it, I wouldn't be going to any Wave games until I take a safe vaccine (not a political stance). My wife has congestive heart failure and has multiple other co-morbidities, so I've got to play it really safe for her sake. COVID-19 is absolutely exploding in Wisconsin right now, so without anything other than hope as a strategy for the near term... I think the Wave made the correct move.

On the other hand, how many indoor soccer teams took a year off, only for it to become forever?

It's gotta be more than the number in arena/indoor football.

Literally no team in that sport has ever survived anything other than perfectly uninterrupted continuity, even when the circumstances were legitimate and out of the team's control (arena renovations are considered a death sentence for a franchise in that sport).

    literally not true.

new orleans sat out 2006 and returned in 2007.

and that's not to mention the teams that came back after the 2009 fold/reset.

Didn't realize New Orleans was the same franchise.

Forgot about the lost season. D'oh!

It has become very fashionable to take a year off and come back in the MASL: Dallas, Monterrey, Sonora, Rochester, etc.

Yeah, that lost 2009 season and the 2010 reset saw the Arena Football League try that hybrid model of big AFL markets playing smaller af2 markets in the same league.

That only lasted one year with practically all of the af2 markets either folding or moving to larger markets with the exceptions of Spokane and Iowa.

If they're gonna bring stuff back, Cleveland and Canton, please.

Sidenote: I think you moderated this forum back around 2000 alongside me. Old times are good times.

I don't know much about the Force or the Crunch past recognizing the names of Otto Orf, Zoran Karic, Hector Marinaro and Troy Dayak, but I do know there is an injustice in the fact that Cleveland doesn't have an indoor soccer team.

I would say I'm surprised about Mesquite, but given the lack of success they had their first season in attendance, playing without a source of revenue would be deadly to their survival.

And something something Turlock. I'm not flogging that horse anymore.

What is noteworthy is Orlando isn't mentioned anywhere, indicating they've likely folded, despite a lack of news on that front. Not surprising, given how their attendance numbers were horrendous for years.

You mean just because the local men’s indoor rec league that I just officiated had higher attendance that Orlando did last year?
