Anyone know of a mens collegiate player and what they've been prescribed for training over next three months?
I figure we're in lockdown for minimum 2.5 months, need to keep my 04 boy busy.
An actual document...take off the team/college specific info, and PM me?...
I can create something but what 16 yo listens to parents?...

    THX. Happy TG

Well for some reason I got an email from Ivan stating that they - or keepers are on hold based on State policy. But I think that's where everyone is at.

Not sure why I got that email. Maybe they want us back?

    Lol

How are you still on their mailing list? Haha! I heard a rumor that they were going to be indoors at Soccer City but playing in pods for the Winter. Don’t know how true this is. But they seem to have a monopoly on indoor space for the Winter.

Sockers on pause, week to week. I'm sure like everyone else.
Any missed time added to current season...not sure howa that's possible . Im expecting zoom meetings and shifty six any day!
Spring season to go into July.

Hope you have all created as stupendous of a program for your kids as I have!

I dont see a way back until mid February minimum.
Once the Orwellian new normal can take hold and vaccines start rolling out I predict a regular outdoor season beginning March. ;)

    No idea...

    Parents,

The IDPH is continuing with its Tier 3 Mitigation for the week of December 7th. The programing will continue to pause the indoor programing at the present time and assess on a weekly basis the next steps based on IDPH guidelines.

Any training time that will be missed due to IDPH regulations will be added to our current playing season, as well as extending the playing season.

The Staff continues to appreciate the support from the players and families and will keep you updated on a weekly basis. Stay safe and healthy!

    Thank you,

    Ivan Heredia and Staff

I agree - Feb or March IMO.

I think we are just going to run a lot to keep in shape.

Warm weather - we're back out at it with reduced numbers on outdoor turf.

Glad to get something and my kids smiling ear to ear!

Just a heads up -since Chicago is super soccer quiet.... if anyone is looking for footage-I film all the Sockers USSDA boys/girls home games and have the footage in nice 1080P quality (vs huddle compressed) that is available - for a very reasonable price, I also have the Loyola camp and NU boys and girls camp footage - so if you played against Sockers or attended either of these camps is the last several years... I also have many Elgin 2019 canlan games, Northshore Country Day Fall 2019 games, ping me if you would like to purchase footage. Moderators feel free to remove if this is not allowed. My small business is at a stand still with the current situation but I have released several older games 2018 and before on Vimeo for free if you search under Sockers. If any club would like private livestreaming for scrimmages I am certainly available for that- I have the ability to send livestream notifications to all D1-JUCO coaches for online viewing.

Hearing one club has parents filing complaints IYSA for payments cashed out with no services provided - during COVID - Sounds like this is a fairly large group of parents. I know most clubs have done their best to provide some training - even if that's just online training. Anyone else hearing about clubs getting jammed by parents over how they handled COVID and training?

    Lemme guess, Sockers?

Best thing happened during this shutdown: my kid asked to tryout at a bigger club. Misses soccer. Wants to play more and get better. Didn't bring up college yet and I won't force it. Now I'm looking into bigger clubs for the spring. Guess we'll find out if all the hate for some clubs on here is warranted.

Just happy soccer is coming back. Love to see my kids play.

No I am not speaking of Sockers. I know parents are not happy at the absolute shut down there - but there are clubs shutting down across the board. What they offer in terms of discounts or extra training is different from club to club. What I do know about Sockers is that they start training next week and they are adding up to 2-3 tourneys starting in February (based on COVID) for some teams. I would say that's okay as long as those tourneys are covered by the club and not an addition allocation - that would be sort of a kick in the gut while your down and out IMO.

*Some* clubs are shut down however and not offering anything but private training at additional cost.

About your son... That's always a great parent moment and congrats on that. Everyone's experience is based on the ability of their player - especially at the larger clubs. Good luck and I hope it works out!

This may not be the case for every club, but my kids club went into total shutdown since Thanksgiving and beginning outdoor training next week weather pending. We were told that our dues would still be paid on the regular schedule but the season would be extended into mid-July at no extra charge to make up for the lost time. In the beginning I wasn't too pleased but to be fair I'd rather have more outdoor soccer in June and July than zoom skills sessions now, and I don't expect the coaches to have to do both unless they're getting paid for the extra time. Forced me to get up off my a** and play with my kids but maybe that's not such a bad thing either lol.

Yeah I have heard of not charging - returning fees or extending the season altogether. It's strange how it's different depending on the club. I have an old girlfriend who has two sons at mid-size club that charged nothing for Fall since Spring was ruined.

Heard girls Div 1 MRL will be played out in Rockford during February. Not sure if clubs are just organizing games or whether IYSA will be managing it.

Heard indoors - I think they only have one full size field so we may be looking at 7AM and 930PM games.

Not sure indoor games will be allowed in February unless they are just going to tell JB to F Off

Well from what I know it sounds like the State is rolling back Friday - clubs are planning to go back to play so I am guessing the States change in status means we can go back to indoor?

Seems like a big jump to go from no indoor activities at all to allowing games. More likely back to non contact groups of 10 or less indoor.
