LAFC had all four of their Internations test positive. Looking forward to the Seattle Match - oh, F Seattle - your coffee sucks.

wow, this is the most delusional of all anti-Seattle posts I've seen in this forum.

Starbucks isn't the best, but man, the independent coffees around Seattle beat anything in this tri-state area that I've tried. Even my favorite roaster in Sperryville (which is pretty dang good).

I have a roaster down the street from me that is amazing. Citybean.com

Joking about Seattle coffee. Starbucks is hot ass though.

Just can’t stand the Seattle soccer team though a good friend from college is a fervent supporter. I try to give her crap but since they are consistently good it is hard for her to take me seriously.

I had my best cappuccino in the US at a kiosk in Portland. And trust me, as an Italian, I am mercyless on opinions about coffee here in the US. On the other hand, I have never been to Seattle, so it could be.

That ref should never work again. How does he not know you can't sub during a shootout, then blows the whistle when the shootout isnt over, teams leaving the field. And PRO defends him saying he made the right decisions. Talk about missing the point.

The Red Bulls are one of 3 original teams to have never won an MLS Cup.

I have been 4 times at the Crew Stadium on DCU away trips, among which the first time was my first away game outside of the comfort zone of the Giants Stadium ones, I have very nice memories of the stadium itself (game results apart) and also of the city, which is really an interesting place, a very different reality from the East Coast cities.

Never liked the extremely isolated location of Crew Stadium, which is set inside Ohio’s State Fairgrounds. Aside from that, Crew Stadium was a tremendous site for those classic February USA vs. Mexico World Cup Qualifiers that I attended.

It's not central but it's not the end of the world either, 2 of the 4 times I was there I did not have a car and reached it easily by public transportation. Something that for example you can't do in Frisco (been there also) or Foxboro (at least for NER games, they have some special trains when the Patriots play but that's a different story)

Caught the end of the Eastern Conf championship.

I think it was Porter being interviewed when the ABC sportscaster asked, "Is winning a Conference championship a distraction on the way to a larger game?"

"Thank you for bringing that up. My dog died too if you want to bring that up. No, this is a big moment for these guys and we're going to enjoy it."

    I was like... oh. SNAP.

What a stupid question, how are you supposed to get to MLS Cup if you don't win the conference final? Do they really get paid for asking such dumm questions?

Columbus was always a good road trip - besides Columbus Crew staff and security was the only one in MLS on the road you could depend on to not ******** up the arraignments for traveling support in some way. Between the Crew and US Men I've been to the stadium roughly 10 times. I'm still on the Crew e-mail list.

Watching the match yesterday and my wife asked who I wanted to win. I said Columbus. She asked why? Said I've always hated NE. Again, why? Matt Reis and Alecko Eskandarian, that's why.

Yeah, my wife and I figured they'd have to win ... because that is such a fun/easy/beautiful road trip we would have certainly tried to go on. But of course, it being 2020, that's too far to drive (since you need bathroom breaks) and we wouldn't be able to get tix (I hope - there were way too many people there way too close together for yesterday's game, but I assume they were at least local) anyway.

Watching that game though, I am not as worried about DCUnited's lackluster play this year as I had been - that game didn't show too much better (although the players may have passed the ball closer to one another than DCU usually does ;))

I agree. A lot a passes late or behind the runners, and cement feet. The Columbus forwards were usually off-sides. The team was fortunate to have scored during that goal-mouth scramble.

Ah, Crew Stadium - the one that even though it was the first SSS it almost reached the level of a Texas high school stadium. Early on they used to have buck-a-beer nights. That was some progressive management!! Soon that was switched to buck-a-brat nights.

One playoff game up there ('98?) I found Salvatore and his drum by a car near the main entrance where they were selling hits with a sledgehammer. That was fun - and the crewsers were really great with us helping beat up their car.

Walking back to the car after one game up there a couple of Cowlumbus fans invited us over and fed us more beers. We ended up swapping wives, er, no, I mean team gear. I got his jersey, he took my '96 cup hat with all my inaugural season team pins. A year or so later I met up with the Crew Hat Thief and we swapped back. Still friends with him - even though he is now near Denver. The way the league is now (and I dont mean COVID), and many teams intentionally killing off tailgating I think those kind of friendships between opposing fans are now just relics of distant memories.
