Depends on how good he ACTUALLY is. If he ends up never making it at Wolfsburg and he ends up at some 3rd tier German team then I don't think he'll be worth it for either side imo.

but if I had to guess.. Guatemala cuz they just beat us :D

Quioto needs to come back to the NT, he was arguably the best player for Montreal this season.

Reading reports that FENAFUTH have made contact with that Kobe kid from Wolfsburg.. surely he wouldn't switch at this stage in his career when he's still a hot prospect?

They want him for the U20 is my guess, but hey at least they are trying.

Luis Palma and the Melendez bros (I think all three of them) will be going to Portugal to trial with various clubs.

They should be aiming for 2nd division clubs for a better chance at signing, it would be big if even just half of them manage to stay.

Raul Gutierrez as head coach of Real España is an interesting project, hopefully he will be able to establish some young players while he is there since he knows how to develop youth players.

Choco doing his thing with Cadiz. Nice to see him in amongst the goals after missing a few weeks at the end of last year with Covid.

Both Elis and Rochez get on the score sheet for their respective teams in Portugal.

Elis seems to be hitting some form for a poor Boavista side. Benguche is getting zero game time so all indicates he may be out the door when his loan ends.

Rochez doing well with Nacional with 2 in two games. He goes low key under the radar but has been quite a solid performer for the last 2/3 seasons he's been at the club.

Tondela, Rubio's previous club is sitting pretty mid-table, I still think it was a bad move leaving that club for the second division..

Denil Maldonado and Rigoberto Rivas have both confirmed they'll be joining the Pre-Olympics Tournament. Great additions.

This tournament and the Olympics has proven to identify players for the full national team. Particularly with the lack of international games a good showing is crucial to rebuilding the national team base.

We lost all our momentum due to Covid, USA is going to be a tough team to beat.

I thought the call up looked strong enough, all things considered. Saying that, the Olimpia duo, Jorge Alvarez and Pineda, will be a big miss.

It's always seems to be between the US and Mexico. Costa Rica doesn't seem to turn up at sub23 level for whatever reason, that might change this time round of course!

Joshua Canales who plays with Queretaro of Liga MX has decided to stay with Honduras and will be part of the U23 Olympic team. He was thinking of switching to Costa Rica so this is a pretty big deal for us.

That's good news. I think Coito in charge and the vision he is bringing must be convincing if he sided over CR.

Will the US have a depleted squad because of travel restrictions on their European based players?

They only called two Euro based player in their January camp, they likely will not bring out the big guns for Qualifying but they will still be dangerous because they have the most momentum out of all teams.

The US federation has been taking this cycle more seriously than the last because of all the past failed qualifications.

It's not that.. its merely the fact that MLS didn't stop like the rest of the other region's leagues did during COVID, sanz Nicaragua and Liga MX(?)...

Players that would have looked average otherwise(non-pandemic year/cycle) are all of a sudden hitting form because they haven't really stopped training nor playing within MLS and USSF.

So yea.. all about form and fitness.. both of which we do not have at the moment.

I guess we'll find out after the two CR friendlies later, where we stand with things before boarding for Guadalajara.

Even before Covid the US federation has been taking it more seriously, I remember them having more regular U23 training camps and friendly matches compared to the London and Rio cycles.

The NT should take the opportunity to call up the youth in Europe when they play Belarus and Greece next month, they don’t have to play just take em along for the training camps.

Honduras tied CR again today, this time 1-1. Douglas Martinez with the goal in the first half. CR clawed back the equalizer inside 10 minutes from regular time.
