Haha - Does anyone have video of that disastrous first game? I want to watch it and come up with some sort of a drinking game.
Kristian Dyer @KristianRDyer 59m hearing Celtic recently made a bid for the Union's Mark McKenzie in October at $3 million that could bump to $4 million with incentives. #DOOP turned the deal down. #USMNT
European clubs seem to equate scouting for transfers in MLS to shopping at Dollar General. I'd like to think the league has at least risen to the level of Target by now.
Celtic has been low balling MLS for years now....and unsurprisingly their low ball offers have never been accepted. Maybe they should be scouting USL now, "Dollar General" offers may be more enticing to USL teams.....
Several updates, Burke with new contract. Wooten, Creavalle and Ngalina let go. Looks like Collin and Bednick negotiating. https://www.philadelphiaunion.com/p...hia-union-exercise-2021-options-seven-players
Didn't you see all the hype this year? Why would they want to go and sign another DP and take away a spot from a homegrown?
That's easy, make a preemptive trade with Austin. Give them some garberbucks for a handshake deal to not take any of our players in the Expansion Draft. Plus, a big chunk of the roster is homegrown players anyways, and is already protected.
Possibly but only sixteen teams participate in this draft. The Union have 16 eligible players and they can protect 12. Collin, Bendik & Oravec are the obviously ones but after that it looks like it will be from a list of Ilsinho, Bedoya & Gaddis it you want to protect all three strikers.
We might finally have something... https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sp...lay-shock-move-mls-philadelphia-union-hearts/
A central defender wouldn’t have been #1 on my player acquisition list this offseason, but the additional depth will be helpful. Watching other teams sign big money attacking players while the Union stand still is getting frustrating. I do trust Ernst, but not Sugarman’s budget priorities.
Halftime reading: Yes, the Union are going to sign Stuart Findlay, multiple sources confirmed to The Inquirer today.First reported by the Scottish Sun, which isn’t always the most reputable, but it’s right on this one.https://t.co/ksE6fJ3t6R pic.twitter.com/z6QZPN6UTK— Jonathan Tannenwald (@thegoalkeeper) February 16, 2021
🚨Findlay? Finally official!Philadelphia Union have signed left-footed center back @StuartFindlay20 from @kilmarnockfc of @spfl.Welcome to Philly, Stuart! 👉https://t.co/3Az6fO29Po#DOOP pic.twitter.com/87opff06u9— Philadelphia Union (@PhilaUnion) February 25, 2021
Heya mods, any chance we could un-pin this thread and move this conversation over to the 20-21 off-season thread?
@KristianRDyer reporting that the Union, D.C. United and Nashville have interest in former Czech Republic youth international Jan Vodhanel.
He was the best player last season on a bad team. I wasn't sure why he's not been playing this year, but probably has something to do with this: Bohemians were prepared to make Vodháněl the best paid player in club's modern era (with a release clause), but he refused to sign. His current contract expires in December.Seems like the failed move to MLS has caused irreversible damage, lack of trust.https://t.co/JZczQCCBAJ— Czech Football 🇨🇿 (@czechfooty) February 28, 2021
Tom Bogert @tombogert 6h Philadelphia Union are finalizing the signing of US youth international central midfielder Leon Flach from FC St. Pauli for $250,000, a source confirms. Bild first reported. Flach, 20, is a dual-national and also represented Germany at the youth levels.
Leon Flach has been signed: 💥BANGER💥Excited to have ya in Philly, Leon! pic.twitter.com/kWPExnJpZR— Philadelphia Union (@PhilaUnion) March 31, 2021
On a different note it looks like we have one more International player than we currently have international spots. Anybody that should be getting a green card? I think International roster spots are getting a lot more expensive to buy from other teams now. I think I saw that Atlanta played $225k in Garber buck for one recently.
