    Bryan Reynolds
    FC Dallas
    Defender

    HT: 6' 3" WT: 170
    Homegrown Player
    Age: 19 (06/28/2001)
    Birthplace: Fort Worth, TX
    Hometown: Fort Worth, TX

Reynolds came up through Dallas' academy and signed a homegrown deal in 2016. He got about 1,000 minutes with North Texas SC in addition to a bit of a run with the first team in 2019. This year, he immediately took over at RB after Reggie Cannon was transferred to Boavista and racked up more than 1,200 minutes across 17 games down the stretch.

Interesting tidbit: According to Transfermarkt, he's the fifth most valuable American defender in MLS (at $2.2 million, an 8x increase since September), trailing only Aaron Long, Mark McKenzie, Walker Zimmerman and Miles Robinson.

Well they certainly need a RB. Cuadrado has been playing there

Yea this is pretty incredible if true.

He’s certainly more fun to watch at RB than Cannon who tends to play quite conservatively.

I would prefer he gets bought by a team in Europe who uses him right away, especially considering this is really his first season getting consistent minutes.

The quoted price tag is pretty incredible. I thought Cannon was fairly highly regarded and he only went for 1/2 of what is being reported for Reynolds. I don't mind him going to Juve if they are going to spend that much money on him. That's a decent sized investment.

Reynolds is a unicorn. Because of his size and athleticism, his ceiling is in the clouds. Not surprised at the Euro interest, but definitely surprised that a team like Juve would jump in so heavy and so quickly.

I'm a little surprised by that price tag for Reynolds given that he's only played a 1/2 season. I figured he'd be more of a next summer/winter transfer target, if/when he developed more of a track record. I guess Juventus figures they'd rather pay $6-7 million now and take the risk instead of paying $12-14 million a year from now if he keeps progressing.

The lack of an EU passport and the tight international player restrictions in Italy seem to potentially put a damper on this kind of move.

Apparently Cuadrado recently obtained Italian citizenship. Not the whole answer, but maybe part of it.

According to Buzz on his podcast, many teams are interested in Bryan in the $4-5m range and Juve came along and said, we're Juve, we're going to outbid you and here's our $6-7m. He expects that number to fluctuate some depending on if others try to bid with Juve and what the sell on fee, add-ons will be. He also said this will take a few weeks but will wrap up before the end of December.

That helps, but still a big risk to give up an international slot for an unproven talent.

A few other tweets suggest other big Italian clubs are in on him too.

just watch the misterkranks comps of him. He’s fascinating to watch. Juve is a surprise... but it’s 2020 and shits wild.

I wonder why the Italian interest in particular. Not that I'm complaining. I'd love to see some of our young defenders develop in Italy. Juventus seems like an ideal situation for him.

Buzz Carrick seems like a very reliable source for these things, but if you want further proof, Taylor Twellman also confirmed Carrick's reporting on his twitter feed.

(I've found Twellman has a very good track record when he mentions serious European interest in an American player, especially from specific clubs.)

He's big, fast, physical, can cross and pass, technically sound, can hug the touchline, and has good stop and go acceleration with and without the ball. I'm shocked a Bundesliga team hasn't swooped in.
