I was thinking the same thing, but in the other direction -- really good chance that a Philly player takes a stupid red. Wish there'd been more time to the half, as Philly was on a good boil at the end of the half. Martinez has a little Joey Franchino to him.
Solid game by the Revs. The Union were completely flat the whole game. The crap antics by the Union was a little annoying which makes it that much sweeter of a win.
They carry in NH Liquor stores... bit pricey. They also make Vodka I think. The distillery is in Seabrook, on the right side as you head out of town on Lafayette (North of small Market Basket) The bourbon people really go nuts over though is Blanton's. Limited quantities, small batch, sells out almost as soon as it arrives. Brewed under license by Buffalo Trace (also a good bourbon) who makes many, many other bourbons. (I used to work part time in a liquor store lol)
I would suspect that Glesnes will be facing some supplemental discipline for his garbage at the end (reminded me of all the poor sport MFL teams during Superliga).
I've got to say, I'm not sure what Philly was up to that second half. The substitution of Jack Elliott for Aaronson was strange, to say the least. Maybe the thought was that since NE is bad on corner kicks, Elliott could channel his inner Peter Crouch? It's certainly true that toward the end, Philly just kept lofting the ball into the box hoping something would happen. In sum, the Revs were the Revs, but Philly wasn't Philly. I think the home fans are going to be displeased with Curtin.
What Tajon said during the post-game “exposé” seemed right ~ the Revs tonight seemed to come ready to fight for it. They showed some of that drive and determination during the game v. Montréal. Tonight it was amped up even more visibly. Their unexpectedly coherent play tonight, if maintained, should help them v. Orlando on Sun. Go Revs!
I hope the league comes down on him for that. Not needed at all. I would say the same if a Revs player did that.
The bigger question is how does the replay official miss this? MLS needs to fix how they handle replay.
The Supporters' Shield curse? Philly being perfect at home and due for a setback? Blake perhaps not ready to go? I'm not giving the thumbs up to this one since he played, but traditional Blake v Revs makes a stop on at least one of our goals. Sixth time the charm? Our DPs all being healthy and seemingly in form? I don't have big expectations for an upset, but at the same time I wouldn't be totally shocked if it happened. The boys will have to be near perfect to pull it off. I'm not ready for the season to end.
My recollection of the last meeting (2-0 Philly win) was that their central guys would find free spaces in the channels when our FBs were getting pinned back. I don't know who's responsible for the difference (I thought Teal was quite good tracking back) but I saw zero of that same movement from them tonight. Anyway, what a fantastic result!
I think I paid under 40 for that bottle. Great group of guys that own the place. They do make vodka and a few other spirits. Blanton's is good but not worth the effort to find. Plenty of great bourbons out there in the 30-40 dollar range. I'd recommend Willett Pot Still, IW Harper, 1792 small batch, Four Roses Small batch or single barrel. Oregon Spirits, Col. EH Taylor Small batch, WL Weller 12yr., Makers 46, Elijah Craig and Knob Creek. Under 30 dollars Buffalo Trace, Rebel Yell, Larceny, 2 Stars, Kirkland(Costco) small batch, Old Forester, Lexington and Bulleit
Wow nice!! The first 5 minutes or so of the game where, the Revs couldn't get out of their own half. I thought, oh boy, here we go it's going to be a long night. Then the Revs strung together some passes and after that completely dominated the first half. That was the best half that they played all year. What does a fully fit Gil mean to the Revs....everything! The whole team played well. I think last night's game is what the expectations for this season were for most fans. As they say, better late than never. Now on to Orlando. That is going to be a tough game, but the good news is it's a road game.
