are BCN finally Destperate enough for the start?

If the dutchman can't turn things around, Dest will be one of the stories associated with the failure. Too bad. He's a good player.

A minor footnote in comparison to the utter dysfunction of the front office/ownership and Messi wanting out.

He was a bit off. Then again, he played 90 minutes in Spain, flew to Buenos Aires, played 90 minutes, flew to Lima, played 90 minutes, flew back to Spain, played another 90 minutes. All in around 2 weeks. Dude might be a bit tired.

He did something similar last month as well.

How insane is it that we've got 3 Americans starting in the Champions league today - all on top teams - and none of them is Pulisic!?

With Jordi Alba on the bench, who is starting opposite Dest? And dare I ask on which side?

Junior Firpo on the left Dest on the right. Firpo was brought in to eventually replace Alba, so I think Dest has RB all to himself until Roberto is back.

Barca looks so disjointed, like they never played together before.

    0-0 at that half.

Nothing much happening with Dest on either end of the field.

Barca look like they have no clue how to attack. Their 9 was a panic buy that never plays for them and Messi was left at home, so it makes sense. Haven't had a cohesive attack since Neymar left.

This iteration of Barcelona is so far away from what has made Barca who they are over the past 20 years or so, I'm starting to wonder if Bayern might not have been the better of the two options for him. I think the draw of the Dutch influence at Barcelona over the years was the kicker for Dest, and maybe going to the home of National Socialism might have been a bridge to far for the kid, but I'm starting to think maybe this wasn't the best time to move to Barca.

I tried watching a few minutes but it was painful on the eyes. I was hoping to see Dest be more assertive today but he still appears to be playing very conservatively.

Nice quick touch combinations and calm far post finish by Dest. Good past by Dest earlier in the play, potentially accidental pass by Brathwaite to Dest making the run behind the defense.
