I disagree, he was starting to play very well before he sustained that big injury vs PSG, he was taking players on, and creating chances, only thing that was lacking was him scoring the goals himself; he was also good in some games after coming back from that injury, the one against Valencia comes to mind where he was named MOTM. I'd agree that overall he hasnt performed close to expectations but denying that the injuries and lack of fitness have played a MAJOR part in that is simply crazy to me, i'm not saying that you personally have done that btw, i'm just speaking in general.
Well I am trying to be fair to all our players, if we destroyed Bale, then the same should apply to Hazard. I might be alone on this, but while I agree both transfers did NOT go as we intended, If I was forced to pick one, Bale over Hazard (SO FAR).
I was really excited with this transfer and I still am optimistic that it will work out. But off late the last 2-3 matches that I have watched he seems hesitant taking on defenders and that takes away a lot from his game; there might be some merit in what @Drouchk is saying, in terms of being cautious but we need him to create havoc in that final third... Hope he finds himself sooner rather than later
He just lacking matchritme imo. He played 3 games in 8 days and then he contracted covid. So then he wasn't allowed to train for 10 days, only trained twice before the Villareal game. Think the way Hazard dribbles also requires a high amount of matchsharpness. A lot of his dribbling is quick turns, quick changes of direction where a split second can make the difference between beating the defender or the defender getting a toe to the ball.
Ronaldo scored a double one day after testing negative. That PSG match was in 2019 and its the last thing we're hearing about him.
The players that had difficulties generally just missed more time/returned later. You don't forget how to play in two weeks.
This guy is dead to me at this point. No point in even speaking about him. Unsubbing from this thread.
I haven't given up on him either, but at this point for me it feels like buying a lotto ticket, I tell myself there's a chance I might win but I know it's just a waste of time and money.
Real Madrid are still yet to have lost a La Liga game with Hazard starting. (13W, 3D, 0L) pic.twitter.com/7t9zsELwYk— CFCDigest (@CFCDigest) November 22, 2020
Hasn't Hazard always played with a proper striker? Costa, Higuain, Lukaku. Is Benzema with Hazard really a good idea to get the best out of Hazard? Does not make any sense to play Benzema without someone like Ronaldo or Bale who can run in behind and get into goal scoring postions and has that instinct.
He hasn't gotten a proper run of matches yet. Let's see in a few weeks if this is still the same issue. If he stays healthy, I'd bet it's not.
If we're being honest with ourselves we paid that obscene amount for the kind of player who doesn't need runs of matches.. heck any kind of excuse. Anyways, I'm not going to pile on. I'm pulling for him; however I understand the disappointment.
Sometimes it's easy to forget that this is the most expensive player in Real Madrid history. It's hard to name a worse transfer in modern club history.
I think the fact that he would have been free in 6 months, this is perhaps the worst transfer of all time.
I imagine you mean he hasn't played enough matches in a row yet for that stat to be a genuine reflection of what he's done for our team
When it comes to this player it seems that ALL semblance of rationality goes out of the window. i get that his unprofessionalism at the beginning of his Madrid career left a bad taste in our collective mouth but damn lol high transfer fee or not, a player that comes back from several injuries is not going to hit the ground running, it's laughable to expect otherwise, Zidane understand this, hence the subbing him around the 60th minutes even in games he does somewhat well in like when he scored that golazo.
I think he should play. The investment is too big and it's not like our other options are great either. But you can't honestly say that barring a drastic change in his performance and health, that this has been a terrible signing? As it stands, given the fee, the fact that he could have gone for free, the poor professionalism, the injuries, the mostly poor performance when he is not injured, etc. This has been the worst signing of all time. But....it is still early and he can easily change that to where the only complaint should be the fact that we didn't wait. Nothing to do with him.
