Yes. she waiting for FIFA, who just changed their rules, to allow her to play. the rule was 5 years after 18. now it's 5 years regardless of age + not moving for soccer. The funny thing is, she moved for soccer and has stated so in interviews. She's later tweaked the reason for education, etc. but...
I believe the new rule isn't about moving for "football reasons" but moving for the purpose of becoming eligible for a national team: demonstrate that the move to the territory of the association was not for the purpose of participating for its representative teams At the worst, she becomes eligible when she turns 23 (5 years after 18). The delay is likely because this is a new process for FIFA and there are some administrative/process obstacles that pop up early in a new procedure.

Press been only able to score only 1 goal in 267 minutes playing time on an Man U team that plays very 'direct soccer' that even Jill Ellis would get goose bumps from watching them Mewis got two goals, but definite strong, physical presence for Man City yet currently only in 5th place in the league standing(so the league does have some depth) now words out that the Netherland's best player; central striker, Miedema is out with an injury. The Dutch don't go deep enough to be really able to replace her, dso US chances of winning went up the roof
Fifa's rule was to prevent rich European clubs from raiding African and South American youth prospects. She moved to the US to play soccer, but money was not the main motivation for her family. The US provided structure and organization, which Brazil didn't and still don't have in the women's game. There is an old interview (in portuguese) were she complains about the lack of support and organization for women soccer in Brasil and said she would move to the US. This was the same year Santos (her training team at that time) cancelled their women's team.

If I say that the Oranjeleeuwinnen are way more match ready and could take this game without the services of Miedema would jackdoggy forever consign me to the locker room? it depends how long the US has been training for this game; if it’s been weeks, than Vatko probably whipped them into top top shape, if it’s only a few days, then obviously they wouldn’t be fit. Remember; the Dutch wouldn’t be without the he best striker in the world, 3 time WSL leading scorer, Miedema(and she’s proven that compared to Sam Kerr, who’s goal scoring output been disappointing since coming to Chelsea/4 goals in 852 mins)They don’t go that deep after that; van de Donk lost her starting spot at Arsenal, van de Sanden likewise at Lyon & Wolfsburg. Lieke Martens got shockingly low stats at Barcelona, Spitse, their abt free kicker plays at some amateur club in Norway. My fav, Jill Roord, just got back from injury & isn’t particularly liked by coach Wiegman, who prefers to start the lil blond squirt from Man U ahead of her(who despite seemingly having the the worlds biggest fan club, got an whole one assist, zero goals last season:two assists, zero goals this time around) so again it comes down how well the USWNT is conditioned for this one.
