College combine bro - no plastic trophy.

Furthermore I highly doubt there are any members who post here look at their kids soccer this way.

HiCat had a meltdown and went on a personal attack. He also blamed everyone else except for his buddy who is hosting the$e event$.

    Nice argument:thumbsup:

You're right bro. They justify it like you just did. They call it something that sounds important like a college combine. That D1 coaches cannot even attend. Did the host provide a list of schools in attendance? Curious to see what that looked like. Even more curious how many on that list actually attended and didn't just sign up to get the contact lists.

One thing you're right about is that it's all about the $$. That you paid. For a college combine that was worth about as much as that plastic trophy.

Who said I justified anything - you sound like my ex wife.

No coaches are looking at my kids team - I know that and so do our parents. We could care less. As parents, our favorite game was one we lost against a decent team - but our girls played with enormous passion - that's what it's all about.

You act like you walked into a message board with rec parents.

    Get a grip man.

You did, though. You countered my meaningless plastic trophy comment by saying it was a college showcase. Now you're saying it was just about playing with enormous passion. Why didn't you say that before when I made the plastic trophy comment instead of calling it a college combine in the first place?

I can tell you're not a rec parent. My youngest plays rec and they're not going to NWI for games either.

My grip is pretty firm. You may want to check yours bro.

LOL - my entire point in telling you it was a College Combine was to point out there was no silly reward - as you clearly mentioned "plastic trophy". I doubled down on that by saying that no college coaches were even looking at us after you seemingly countered that - that was the "plastic trophy".

You seem to insist that these parents need some sort of reward to make them feel all warm and cozy - justifying the need to play in Indiana. Again even here I pointed out the only reward we are looking for (not speaking for everyone of course) is that our kids give it their all.

Your grip may be solid but I think your point is completely lost on everyone here.

Wierd you started on the 23rd, when I clearly stated 21st.
Oh my bad the Tourney started on the 24th, so we're counting the day BEFORE the tourney.
2 weeks before the jump on the 22nd...where were you guys? Because I can go back here and quote every...single...one of you.
How about Lowell? Over 10% of my plant is out...we has zero even in testing a few weeks back. Where were allllllll you guys? Ah yes, my bad I'm lying. I'm the one that said I didn't know what you were doing, while admitting to it a sentence later.
Why are they holding the games? Should we go back to Volks words...25k/day? Wonder why it was again per all of your words...almost exclusively IL teams. Hmmmm wierd.
Nothing I've said is a lie. The soccerdad is correct. Girls GA teams played the boys multiple times with scouts. My kid was there. No wonder that hated club produces. How come our resident hater didn't know this, in their "DMs"? Ain't nothing but a karen at the watercooler.

The selection for the USMNT coming friendlies in Europe is unbelievably exciting and is tremendously good for the sport regardless of gender imo.

Some very exciting players and a HUGE surprise of one of England’s top u17’s accepting a call up to our full national team.

Thought I’d break the back and forth with Covid etc. 2026 World Cup is going to be very exciting and hopefully (fingers crossed) Covid is done by then... ;-)

It will be interesting to see when they can mix in the MLS players if Chris Mueller gets a call up. Reminds me of Mike Magee. MM never got a real chance at the national team. Hopefully CM gets a shot

Still in meltdown mode eh HiCat?
I've never met the kid but his mom is an incredibly nice person. I think MM had his kid at Soccer City back in 2016 playing for Sockers or Lil Kickers - I just remember walking out from futsal (upstairs) with my kid and seeing him. Pretty cool.

I’m with you, but it’s going to be difficult for him. So much competition for those very few spots and MLS simply doesn’t provide an environment anywhere near a champions league level where our best prospects are coming from.
Seems like a great kid and his story is a good one. From star at Sockers to a rough couple years at Madison until he turned it around. I’m rotting for him... His Mom is one of the loveliest people you’ll meet and her absence at Sockers is definitely felt imo.

Good thing a players parent pulled his kid. He's positive. Thankfully they're smarter than you and saved a few hundred contacts. Check your Sockers contact that knows all. They won't know shit as usual. *mic drop*

Pretty low standards for a *mic drop*.

You sure you know how this internet thing works? You seem to make less sense with every post.

Do I? Or are you coming to the realization you were wrong and what you did in the face of science and facts was wrong? Intermingling clubs like it was cool, traveling around like you and the rest of the IL teams knew better, shitting on Sockers for not doing it?
What was the reply from one of those parents calling me wrong? Our Tourney was 10/24? Correct? How long ago was that? Go take a look at Lake and Porter counties on the 24th to now about 2 weeks later.
I'm sure its just a coincidence the jumps seem to show up correlated to your IL clubs coming here to play against everyone's guidance.
Naperville.has a kid out positive now too...lives in Indiana with his dad. Im sure you knew that too since you're so in the know with Sockers and the Naperville area Go take a look at the schools over there closing now. Ran out of teachers. How close is CP to Lowell? Biggest Club in NWI who's fields you were playing at? Wierd.

I think you've gone mad because your Sockers team is dropping in GotSoccer points because they are not playing real games.

Well Concerned - not really. I knew my kid was not going to make DA - in fact I knew she was not going to make ECNL prior to that. To add - some of the coaches there who I was/am close with knew this as well. The facts are, My kid had a conversation with BC who lied to her face. She was 4th from the bottom on talent and 3 parents of the 3 other kids went to DR and bitched that by the 6 NPL game their players did not get to play (in those games). So in order to shut them up - BC bounced my kid and 3 others for them.

My kid made that decision - as any kid should and as any responsible parent should respect.

That said... And I will remind you - by your comments, YOU are drumming up more Sockers negativity...

Sockers was already diminishing as a club for girls. They had already gone through two shake ups where coaches were let go/shown the door. The 06 and 07 teams had nothing in the gas tank as far as talent. The 04 team was a joke at that time. The 05 team had no new players coming in for the following years inagural DA team - which meant the top players would comprise of that team - leaving behind my kid and the rest.

That PA 05 team was going to be AWFUL! And they in fact were. They had to backfill the DA players with half of the Hoffman Estates local soccer team. Funny story - while at CSA we had a game at Stuart Sports Complex that ended about 30 minutes before that 05 Sockers team played TC. We went to visit with old friends. Horrible soccer. My kid sat on the bench and the coach (who was a sub from Naperville) asked my kid to tell the team what she thought they were doing wrong. :D

They were lucky to get out of there losing 0-5 - only lucky because the DL pulled his bench in for the second half.

So I left becasue my kid would not play for BC - rather quit altogether. She would not play for Sockers (we attempted to move to CL Sockers). I agreed because I was not going to be involved in a girls program re-build that the club brought on itself. I was also most certainly not going to pay for a second team with little talent around in the NPL/IWSL and playing ONLY crappy Sockers tourneys which at that time had become pretty bad as well - all of which, they brought on themselves.

Hope that helps to clear things up for you.

It was all Illinois soccer kids that brought the 'vid to NW Indiana!! Why haven't you let everyone know? Why was this not a leading story in regional news????!?!?!?!!? Why isn't Tom Skilling tracking the massive cloud of Covid laden air that reared up over these soccer fields and refuses to be blown off of NW Indiana? Because it is not true.

Why are you bringing your kid from Indiana to Illinois to play soccer in Cook County when that is clearly against the Covid protocol? Seems just as irresponsible as the parents you are railing against. Shameful.

Which counties had the Covid cases? How did that compare to Lake and Porter? How about after the tourneys? The games? Oh my bad. Soccer doesn't transmit Covid. Come play at Hallmark. The games are going on. Let's see a 95% IL team night again. Science won. It doesn't give a flying * about your belief. Porter doubled roughly 2 weeks after game at imagination Glen. Lake is doubling 2 weeks after. I dont make the numbers. I'm not making CP schools shut down. I just know the fields and clubs that play there. And its not a surprise.
I mean I'm quarantined now positive. I dont have any symptoms at all. Hey VolklP19 where's your club meet We'll come I mean soccer doesn't transmit right? He'll be the Best damn goalie on your fields trained under Aleksi. Not that you know him. Those actual MLS and National Team coaches are a bit under you.

I never soccer - or these games do not transmit COVID - you are the one running with that. Let me help you out with exactly what I said...

I am sorry you are positive. I hope you get well. I hope Sockers are quarantining your child's team, because I'm sure you let them know you were positive right?

I am sure soccer can transmit covid, but not in the numbers you are talking about.

Your county does contact tracing. It's very simple, you find a link to the contact tracing in your county and if they attribute the soccer tournaments to the exponential rise in cases, post the link. That is the science. I'll happily eat crow. Otherwise you are wrong. And your "feelies" don't count for squat.

YNT staff checking out older age girl groups the past several weeks. I’d put an asterisk next to your comment “diminishing girls club”. I’ve seen the ‘05’s play and the older “pod” (‘04-‘02’s?) and to my eye they’re very impressive.

Not trying to start an argument...nor do I want to get into this fight. But don’t think diminishing applies to girls academy teams in the least.

It's no where near the level of what it was prior to 2012/13. For example thier were girls team was having to push incredibly talented players to 2nd teams because their top teams were so good - very much what you typically see on the boys side.

Yes the 05 girls have become better but a lot of that has to do with recruiting - I've been to their games at Canlan so I know that as a fact.

More specific however... Despite the numbers trending down in terms of players, those teams will no doubt get better as the training is outstanding (always gave you/Sockers that) and strong players from other clubs decide to make the jump to Sockers at u14/u15 specifically.

That said - as I mentioned...

I was not going to be involved in a girls program re-build that the club brought on itself.

Which was 100% correct at that time. The 04/05/06 teams were all caught up in the Sockers mess that they did bring on themselves. Those were the most impacted teams and the 05 second team (which would have been my kids team was not very good. They played in horrible leagues and had worthless tourneys - if any, in some cases for at least 2 full seasons.

That being said. I do think they have hit bottom. Those GA teams have started to improve and they will based on training and new players being brought into the fold. The long term impact on the girls side however is the fact that they have less 2nd and 3rd teams altogether and I do not think that will change.
