Lead is increasing in GA..... Biden’s lead in Georgia has continued to tick up. He now leads by more than 7,000 votes, according to the latest results from the AP.
This is where she needs to grow. The LP designed their campaign very much for the space AOC occupies - social media. So naturally she will be more critical of them as opposed to the other groups like Vote Vets or Republican Voters Against [the president]. While AOC is great on social media and it's effectiveness, she needs to expand her understanding of how people get their information.
I really hope he stays true to his word on this and refuses to leave, so it can happen this way. Real talk, 100%.
Not to mention it is even premature from a data standpoint to make any assessment at this stage. If the data suggests that Biden got 6 to 8% of R's vots, the LP can legitimately claims success since that was their primary objective all along. She is in a bubble and can't think out of it. Losing patience with her and I am not the only one.
AOC thread, “There are folks running around on TV blaming progressivism for Dem underperformance. I was curious, so I decided to open the hood on struggling campaigns of candidates who are blaming progressives for their problems. Almost all had awful execution on digital. DURING A PANDEMIC. Underinvestment across the board. Some campaigns spent $0 on digital the week before the election. Others who spent did so in very poor ways. If I spent only $12k on TV the week before an election & then blamed others after, you’d ask questions. That’s how it looks seeing this. Ideology + messaging are the spicy convos a lot of people jump to but sometimes it’s about execution and technical capacity. Digital execution was not good, polls were off, ironically DCCC banned the firms who are the best in the country at Facebook bc they work w progressives! Also, the decision to stop knocking doors is one people need to grapple with and analyze. @IlhanMN and @RashidaTlaib never stopped and may very well have helped delivered a Biden Presidency bc of it washingtonpost.com/politics/2020/… There are swing seat Dem incumbents who cosponsored the Green New Deal, Medicare for All, etc and if I’m not mistaken every single one won re-election. So the whole “progressivism is bad” argument just doesn’t have any compelling evidence that I’ve seen. When it comes to “Defund” & “Socialism” attacks, people need to realize these are racial resentment attacks. You’re not gonna make that go away. You can make it less effective. How do you make it less effective? Invest in year-round deep canvassing. Data shows that this kind of work helps blunt the force of racial resentment at the polls. If you’re always running away from convos about race, then the only ppl owning it are GOP. You’ll lose. And on this hand-wringing about slight POC increases for GOP in some areas - this is also an area w answers. But honestly when it comes to Latinos the party’s just never seriously made an effort. Mexicans, Central Am, Caribbean, Chicanos - Cubans are not the only impt community By the way if white communities are getting more comfortable w overt racism or “cultural resentment” (if that’s what they’re rebranding it now) it’s only gonna get harder for POC turnout to save everyone. Real organizing & strategy is needed that disarms bigotry, not avoids it. You can’t just tell the Black, Brown, & youth organizers riding in to save us every election to be quiet or not have their reps champion them when they need us. Or wonder why they don’t show up for midterms when they’re scolded for existing. Esp when they’re delivering victories. And btw I’m happy to cede ground on things that aren’t working in some areas! But finger pointing is not gonna help. There’s real workable & productive paths here if the party is open to us. (After all, I got here by beating a Dem who outspent me 10-1 who I knew had bad polling) https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1324694301234921474.html
Let's just hope none of the centrists end up on her list! Is anyone archiving these Trump sycophants for when they try to downplay or deny their complicity in the future? I foresee decent probability of many deleted Tweets, writings, photos in the future— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) November 6, 2020
Funnies.... Joe Scarborough is PISSED that news organizations won't #CallTheElection: "This race is over - and they know it - but they don't want to upset Donald Trump." #MorningJoe #MSNBC pic.twitter.com/LzHXbClros— モノリシック (@monolithic87) November 7, 2020 BREAKING NEWS: ABC has just called the 2019-20 Premier League for Liverpool.— Beau Dure 🇺🇦🌈🖖☮️ (@duresport) November 7, 2020
Does that = not naming people like Warren, Booker, Klobuchar to cabinet posts? (sorry if this is a dumb question, the succession protocols confuse me.)
Biden outperformed Ilhan in her district bt 12 pts.....He whole tirade is being dismantled on Twitter. SMH....
nah, his ability to wiggle via the courts won't be affected whether it is called today or a couple days from now. (I hope it's soon!!)
if they are from a Blue state run by a Dem governor, it make things easier to nominate a senator to a cabinet role.
1. The rules vary from state to state. 2. There have been reports that Team Biden has adopted a "no sitting Democratic senators in the cabinet" policy, which is a terrific idea. Maybe amend it slightly to allow really old senators who obviously will have Democratic successors. (In fact, as a progressive, I'd like to see Feinstein appointed to something like director of intel. She might like that to cap her career.)
People seem noticeably more upbeat in the neighborhood today here in DE. Must be the unseasonably warm weather
Given that’s not what happened, it’s not likely at all. The ballots in question (postmarked before and received after) have been segregated. They’re being counted separately. The total ballot count in this category is so small it will not swing the election. PA followed the SCOTUS order to segregate (which they were planning on doing anyway to prevent mixing in the event of a challenge to the PA court ruling that they could count ballots received up to 3 days after) what scotus did was leave themselves the option to choose to accept those ballots in the event they flipped PA to trump. Unfortunately for them and Republicans, it’s not close enough to cheat.
I tend to agree. What's being ignored is that platforms like Bulwark and LP have their own agency, because there is strong audience demand for their content. So I get calls from Dems to donors to rather give their money to Act Blue, but Dems have no control over the likely emergence of LP as the next Crooked Media. The audience is there, so they will fill it.
Half of me thinks the networks aren’t calling this because they’re paranoid about making a mistake. The other half of me thinks they’re waiting until prime time Sunday to make the announcement to stick it to trump.
Thanks for that. That's valuable info. Should have been conveyed by the guy speaking on CNN talking about this.
