That explains why I had seen no trespassing signs added in recent months.

Maybe they should offer this to season ticket holders. Get to hang out at Audi Field as much as you want!

I dunno what happened to the "FO" thread so this seems as good a spot as any. Answering DCU survey about group sales and saw this little nugget - apparently they are thinking of "mid-morning" starting times:

I haven't been to a mid-morning MLS thing since the old reserve games at RFK auxiliary field the day after..... have they done this since then?

We've had a few pre-noon starts for west coast games. I think it is for a national TV window.

According to Goff, Paul Arriola is likely to play Sunday against Montreal.

Wow. Seems like he may be rushing it, but if he's ready, why not?

I don't see the point of risking it for one game in a season that is pretty much finished. Let him completely heal, and be ready for training camp next year.

Just to take the other side - Is he really rushing it? I mean, at some point, you're ready, right? It's been 8 months. Maybe he's ready. He's been working out for a long time with no game participation. Does not playing for another 4 months really benefit him or make him any more "healed?"

I think if he'd been injured this time last year and had been coming back in July, we probably wouldn't think of it as rushing back.

Goff's report says he was ready to go for last Sunday but the team erred on the side of caution in taking him to New England to play on artificial turf in the rain.

Arriola makes DC United better. The team needs a result. If he's ready, some time in the 2nd half on Sunday may be the spark the team needs.

The season was a lot less lost in July than it is right now. Sure, we could make the playoffs with a result and some help, but running him out for 1 game + a playoff game, because its not going to be 2 playoff games in a season where 75% of the team qualify is different. We just extended his DP deal. keep him working out, let him step on the field in February with a full pre-season behind him in similar match fitness to the other players around him with significantly less pressure to do something special.

Absolutely. We aren't making the playoffs on our own. We need help to do it and we shouldn't waste rehabbing players on a really long shot. Paul is the kind of player to push himself past where he may be ready for.

Save him, get some better players around him, and get ready for next season.

Even though I think he should play if he's ready and want to, I totally understand why you'd think the way you do about the situation.

10 to 15 minutes of a run won't hurt him.

When did Vela come back from an injury just to get reinjured again? Was it because he got hurt in LAFC's first game after the MLS is Back tournament that he missed because his wife was pregnant? Or is there another time you're referring to?

That's the one. It is more of a lack of game fitness and trying to do too much too soon that causes it. Injury can be the cause of a lack of game fitness as can be too much time off for other reasons.

The point is - is the game worth the risk and will the offseason be enough time to heal another injury.

Chicago's tie tonight keeps DC's playoff hopes open a bit wider than they would have if Chicago had won.

Yep. Now Chicago has to lose at home to NYC on the weekend. The only other hope is Miami drawing or losing to Cincinnati.
It looks bad, but there's still a chance.

Not true. DC would win the tiebreaker with Chicago if DC wins and Chicago ties, assuming only one of Atlanta and Miami manage to win on Sunday.
