Foden is totally wasted on the left wing. I don't see how he could perform there. I guess he's played there for tactical reasons for the team but individually it's not a good look for him.

 

Crazy how many left footed players in ManC squad ... compared to England the other day ..

 

Is Greenwood injured?

 

Kind of feel like Foden is being wasted at City. He’s not a wide player and should be playing centrally.

Such a snooze fest watching him struggle to get on the ball and then just playing a 10 yard pass back to Ake.

Boothroyd for all his faults, at least knew how to get the best out of him.

 

No I think ogs is trying to make a statement with all these changes like 'im the boss' because of last week's performance

 

He made some incredible saves. Hes starting to get like hart

 

He did make some fantastic saves but that tackle on VVD was awful and reckless! How that wasn’t deemed a red card is incredible even if the offside was the first offence. If he does that in a major Championship we would be down to 10 men after 7 mins. He’s just a liability at the moment.

 

Vvd is going to miss 8 months now apparently

 

2 assists and a goal for rashford. If only he put that much effort in for England last 2 games

 

Difficult to Blame him. There weren’t any Creative players in the team, he can’t take the ball from the halfway line and dribble past everyone

 

Saka had a really nice game as a box to box LCM. If Southgate only wants hard workers in midfield then he’s one who also can play football

Pickfords shotstopping is second to none. But he keeps having brain fade,

 

Mira weird because tierney is a lcb in defence but gets forward like a left wing back and saka comes into the half space from the left but acts as a wing back in defence

amn plays that role wel too

 

After seeing some of Harry Kane’s recent passing / assists ( another fabulous assist today ) .. has looking more like a central midfielder by the day

Wonder when he’ll start moving back into midfield ala Ray Kennedy ?

 

Southgate has reverted back to type and picked shiit tactics.
I remember the last UEFA nations where we played so well away in Spain and Croatia . Then in the final 4 he picked players like delph and rice in midfield..

The formation he picked v Denmark was the worst I have seen since the McClaren era. An unbalanced back 5 with 3 right backs and 2 defensive mids..
against a team that are solid but hardly devastating opposition .
Grealish , Sancho , Winks and Maddison ignored .

My ideal team would be

4-3-3


Grealish.... Kane.... Sancho

Winks....Henderson....Maddison

Chilwell....Stones....Maguire.....Trent

.............Pickford


Southgate would never pick that team though..
He will never learn and always revert back to type .

 

Isn’t Rice supposed to be protecting the back four ??

 

Let’s hope not. Never a good idea to play a striker in midfield, didn’t work well for Rooney.

 

As he slows down it’s an option though ..
