My kid isn't playing games and they still love going to soccer everyday. I listen on the sidelines sometimes at practice and scrimmages and I honestly think its the parents that are having a harder time not having games than the players. Lately been social distancing a little farther away if you know what I mean. Tired of listening to all the bitching. Who's emotional needs are we trying to satisfy?

I disagree - every player my kid or I speak with wants to get back to games. The adverse effects I have seen as a result of not playing games has been no different then those associated with remote learning in school.

We are playing our last Club v Club game in Portage this weekend. Between our friendlies over the summer and our regular CvC games , I feel like it’s been a pretty normal season. I have talked to parents from Fire South and their kids aren’t happy, nor are they. Especially when they are seeing other teams with a season. The rumor is Fire 06 scrimmaged their 03’s and parents couldn’t watch. I don’t know what they did? Drop their kid and wait in their car?

I believe the one parent rule is a state-wide initiative from JB? Maybe these clubs are taking it further because they are concerned? Hard to blame them. Realistically however if only one parent went, wore a mask and was at least 6 ft from every other parent - that should be good enough.

Guidelines do not limit spectators to 1 per player. Local rules may dictate that. I think people are worried about the group size as that is supposed to be 50 but if you have 30 feet between groups you can easily can accommodate both parents. I have seen some clubs with no parents allowed, some with 1 and others that have whole families.

Okay - then that's what Campton is doing. So far the games we played it does look similar - half the people as usual.

I was happy too see so many masks in WI this weekend - lets do what it takes to get back on the field and leave the politics out IMO.

Why can't a parent be unhappy when they pay crazy fees for no games while teams within the same club are playing, or competitor clubs are playing conference games and tournaments.

If you don't want to play games then don't. Don't go. Having the club dictate schedules is a travesty, why not ask the entire membership. How is it fair that many clubs are being lazy about scheduling and focusing on select teams only. IWSL teams not playing should be disgusted when they could play in indiana.

And yes, it does impact most kids. No one wants to practice only and playing intra club scrimmages gets old very fast.

Did you only signup your kid to practice? Corona is not discriminating it's spread between practices and games out of state. How are the two any different? Why settle for one?

Oh wait, CV19 has not been spread by playing soccer according to several studies but that's a different topic. Why are we still debating wearing a mask at all?

As the "fall season" starts coming to a close soon, anyone have any idea if there will be indoor soccer or futsal this winter? Driving to Indiana for tourneys to play other Illinois soccer teams has been fine, but wondering if soccer will come to a stop once winter begins. Does Indiana have a great indoor facility and/or will IL teams be allowed to play indoors in Indiana?

Lowell, Indiana was packed solid with games. Lots of space to social distance - not too many masks - that I wish they would mandate.

But Illinois teams everywhere - I dont even know if I saw an Indiana team. One of our parents figured at $150 per game that they could be clearing over $20k a weekend. Going to be a good Christmas for the 3 employees that manage those fields :)

Right!! We were there this past weekend as well-the 1492 classic- but that was all outdoors. Does Lowell have an indoor facility to be able to keep playing this winter? I don't see futsal or indoor soccer being organized in IL, and our club is organizing POD futsal, but hoping for more. Maybe I should be grateful for just that I guess. But after being able to play real soccer games this past weekend, it was nice for a change of pace and the girls were soooo excited and had that spark again while playing. I'm sure they get more out of practice, but playing games is what draws them to soccer and keeps it fun-especially when they can play as a team instead of always being split up in these pods to "keep things fair". Looking to see what other teams are doing for the winter besides practices and POD stuff.

we played the chicagoland indoor league last year in Bridgeview. 11 v 11. well worth it. I doubt it gets played unless masked indoors.

I think all the pressure to play high school basketball will cause the move to the next level for all sports. That will allow soccer games. I think the compromise will be masks for indoor sports.

Yeah we discussed this as parents a few times (for winter leagues). We are fine with what ever we have to do to have the kids play. Masks 100% for spectators and workers - no food or beveraged served, in and out... I will miss the tacos at The Mac however:D

We had our first "No Contact" practice that Dist #155 is offering at 2 days a week. Kid had fun. Basic drills - nothing that crazy.

At this point its about the social aspect and just getting used to a new school.

Excellent (behind a pay wall). Creating a world class soccer culture (TLDR: keeping the good of DA (structure and standards and losing the bad and keeping a flexible system that is dictated by grassroots and not governing bodies. And best of all advocating for making the US Open Cup something special again!)

We got notice yesterday. 05 Campton is in at...

10/30 - Inter Cup Fall Showcase (Portage, IN)
11/13 - Indiana Elite (Portage, IN)
11/20 - Grand Park Showcase (Westfield, IN)

We'll see if everything holds together.

Have some mates over at 1974 complaining that they are not playing - and others are/ Apparently 74's message is that clubs playing in Indiana are breaking the rules. I told one parent to have their coach show them where Club v Club has special rules to do just that

Meanwhile that club - in many cases is getting their asses handed to them in this "exclusive" top ranked league. It's just great how USYS just shit the bed with this crap.

I just checked the actual Club vs Club site for each team U15-U19 as it is good to know some teams are playing!

Two teams in first place and a third still within touching distance of first place. The only team that is struggling is U16s. You've got a crazy definition of the word, "many" ... you need to join a political campaign with how you spin some of this stuff.

Sorry but many of those teams are in the B group which looks no better then most of your top teams in the First Divisions. Yeah - thats great for youth soccer and especially for a club like 1974 who can now bank on their exclusive access to youth soccers highest division.

    So overall - yeah.

I guess I am also I'm also a bit "put off" that coaches are BS'ing parents about other clubs play.

To me, it does not look like Club v Club groups are labeled Bracket A and Bracket B with A being the better teams and B being the weaker teams... It almost seems like they wanted to base it geographically... how Midwest United got in to the SW suburbs/MO group, no idea.

As far as coaches BS'ing parents, I am sure it is happening everywhere but by and large many of the top clubs seem to be doing as much as they can for their families.

I agree the BS is happening everywhere but at least try to come up with a decent response.

Also - I am still very salty about this Club v Club shit so I apologize for going a bit over the top.
