Big if true. Dude seems to be doing well at New Mexico United. Armando Moreno se decanta por El Salvador y no por México ni Team USA
I’m looking at his age and the fact he’s still at USL has me hesitant can he make the jump to an MLS team.
Last year, he was at Chicago Fire and previously at NYRB. I don’t think he’s ever been good enough to play at MLS level, let alone Liga MX as he couldn’t break into the Tijuana squad.
If anything he might be good enough and probably stand out in the Salvadoran league if he ends up leaving USL. He could make a good sub when our forwards gas out after near the end of the match, if one of the forwards get injured, and starter for friendly matches. He's not bad but we have better options than him at the moment with Erick Rivera, Nelson Bonilla, and Dustin Corea. The more options the better though. Just gives the team more depth and if they have to change tactics or play style against certain countries they play against. Who knows he might play well with the national team and finds a better league to play in that isn't MLS or Liga MX.
Santamaría NEEDS to be our starting striker. Unless he plays 10? He’s excelling in Peru rn and he’s even said that him playing his position is helping loads.
OFICIAL: El Salvador jugará ante Estados Unidos en diciembre y Enrico Hernández sería llamado a la Selecta
US is most likely bring in a A team. El Salvador doesn't think the A team is worth calling up. They're too good for that.
Hopefully they can get Erick Rivera and Kevin Santamaria for this match and have them starting. I also wouldn't be surprised if the match gets canceled.
I don’t see a good game if we don’t have the A squad. Our squad is solid even if the coach isn’t but our b squad...is non existent
B Squad would be either most of the USL players or top players playing in El Salvador. Which still wouldn't be enough to play against MLS players. A squad is necessary to get them use to playing together instead of waiting until qualifiers.
Yeah I was just curious because Velado did not play in the U-20 friendly against Honduras. We know why now: 📢📢📢 OFICIALNOTA DE PRENSA pic.twitter.com/kugbX2OduD— FESFUT (@fesfut_sv) November 24, 2020
This is good they're bring most of the abroad players for the friendly match. I don't mind if they don't bring Punyed for this match. He's already got enough experience and probably needs to settle with his new club. I do want to see Kevin Santamaria get called up for this match. He would have to be the starter over Enrico before Enrico gets any minutes with the senior national team. They both play in the same positions behind the striker as #10 as center attacking midfielders or as a 2nd forwards as supporting strikers. I wonder if Enrico can play or just train with the team for now? Since Enrico had some experience with Holland's youth team, I'm not sure if he was involved in any official matches with them.
I think he will. He's playing in 3rd division in Spain. The U.S. has a lot of 1st division options now in Germany, England, Italy, Austria, and a few in Spain. Probably best for him at this point at his age to play for El Salvador. He hasn't been called up to a U.S. youth team in a while.
Still gotta start Santamaría. He’s been killing it in Peru and def warrants another chance with the NT. Honestly, having him up too with Erick Rivera would be interesting. I think it’s a combo that we’ve lacked for so long (A strong hold up player with a quick skillful player to set them up next to him). sidenote. Idk how true this is or not, but...I read on Twitter the Henry Hernandez is gonna be our captain and they won’t have any training days for the game. Kind of makes sense since our league is still going and it’s not a fifa date but...why do we keep overlooking Benji? Till this day he’s still our most consistent GK anywhere. He’s a penalty specialist and is pretty decent off his line. He’s short sure, but he’s a much better keeper than HH. Carabantes has to be called up as well as he’s been excelling this season with FAS. Right now? My lineup would be —-Benji—— Tamacas-Domínguez-Mancia-Jiménez —Chicho—- Ruso——Ceren——Pineda Santamaría—Rivera i think this is the best of what we have. Obviously Oscar Ceren should be there but no one seems to know about his Spain situation so there’s that. Being Nelson off the bench if you went but don’t start him lol. Anyone else is just kind of rotation for now (some of those players who played vs La H for the youth team should get a call up . They played well.)
Santamaria should be behind Rivera. More of a freeroaming offensive #10 player. The only logical reason I could think of why they keep calling Hernandez is how many call ups he has with the national team or he's just a coach favorite. He's doing alright in Guatemala. Benji been consistent lately and I'm still surprised no one outside the country tried to sign him when he was younger. Carabantes doesn't seem bad from the little I've seen but Benji's reaction time, aerial blocking and catching, and his recovery time after knocking the ball away or falling to the ground is a lot faster. Caranbantes should be a sub at least to gain some experience with the national team even if it's just through training. Rivera should be starting over Bonilla. I'm pretty sure the Bolivian league is above the Thai league. Oscar Ceren's situation seems weird. If clubs in Spain were really fighting to purchase him we'd see bid like purchases, just like we do we other pro players. We'd even see news somewhere in Spain's sport news for the clubs interested in him. I think they're just hyping up the "interest of other clubs" when really they're probably looking for the attention of those clubs hoping they'd sign him. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up coming back to El Salvador, settle for a smaller league outside the country and Spain, or ends up on the bench with a 2nd division club in Spain (the interest from these clubs doesn't seem to be there if they're taking this long).
As we suspect and All MLS team has been called up for the game https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/20...-of-usa-el-salvador-on-dec-9-in-ft-lauderdale
Tbh not even mad. Enrico hasn’t had any official game time with Vitesse, so he shouldn’t represent Selecta before representing ES U-20 or U-23. Edgar Alvarez springs to mind. Same energy. 1333658105998045184 is not a valid tweet id
