Macias is young. He’ll snap out of his arrogance with a new team. Chivas just need to get rid of him. It ain’t working out between them. Reminds me when Tecatito showed up overweight, and lacked any desire to play football, years back at Twente.
And the guy still has gas left in the tank. I dunno if he’ll be a starter but Andres will definitely be in Qatar barring any injury
So many years have passed but the 1998 team continues to be my all time favorite to have watched in any WC
FMF sporting director Gerardo Torrado confirming in an interview with @ESPNmx that Mexico's men's national team will be playing in Europe in November. Opponents TBD. #eltrieng— Tom Marshall (@mexicoworldcup) October 9, 2020
Not according to Record Francotirador wrote a column last week where he claimed many of the LigaMX club owners can't stand Torrado, mostly because of the way he handled the negotiations for players to be released for the international window. Apparently the biggest knock against him was Torrado forcing Inter Miami's hand to let Pizarro travel to Europe for these two games. Maybe @Rafael Hernandez can fill us in on that.
Honestly, I'm not losing any sleep over club owners and their management teams being angry at Torrado. To me it means he's doing good work and thinking about the NT over club interests.
I read something but I'm not sure about it. Wouldn't surprise me. That being said, I'm not a fan of FrancoTirado (AKA Felipe Morales) at all.
That makes two of us. We're in agreement here. I just want to highlight the fact that this is a national publication and it more or less shapes the way the average fan views the higher ups at the FMF. Which is why many people approve of guys like Nestor de la Torre and his authoritarian and heavy handed style while Torrado seems more inclined to keep the player's best interest in mind when logistics for NT games are involved.
There’s no more relegation so clubs shouldn’t even worry about losing players to the NT If Torrado is pissing off club owners then he must be doing something right
Thinking long term, this is hopefully setting precedents for the day --hopefully many years from now-- when the federation seeks replacements for Torrado and Tata Martino. I'm sure most coaches get more excited by partido moleros against the Dutch in Europe than against Martinique in San Antonio. No offense to Martinique or San Antonio.
The situation might not repeat itself. Euro teams are playing 3 games this FIFA break because of COVID and congestion (they had to play 2 Nations League and Euro 2021 playoffs). Plus you can't have friendlies with public in the US. Next year it's going to be tough besides because of the SUM contract but the fact that calendars are going to be super congested worldwide not just with Mexico.
🇲🇽⚽️🇯🇵🇶🇦 #Tri #Mexico #SeleccionNacional #SeleccionMexicana #FechaFIFA #futbol pic.twitter.com/ysmIsl0rFf— Fanbolero (@fanbolero) October 10, 2020 Japan is nice, assuming they come with their full squad. Qatar still feels a bit like a molero, though.
They are the current AFC Champions, not Japan. I would have liked another team because we might face them in the 2021 Gold Cup but they aren't a bad team.
They have improved, but ceiling wise, they're not much better (if any) than a Costa Rica or US and they probably won't be playing at a more familiar climate as when they played in UAE. At least Japan has more talent, experience against rivals outside their confederation and upside.
Ochoa ya representó a Mexico en una concentración , pero Estados Unidos es el equipo que más interés ha mostrado en los años recientes— Jovenes Futbolistas MX (@Jovenesfutmx) October 12, 2020
