Just saying - having a best of 3 match fall tournament does not make you the "best" team in NISA.

Not sure your point here, but we seldomly decide the “best” team in the US.
Is your point that Oakland is the best? Detroit beat them twice in this tournament.
    Who was “better”?
And, I mean, it was 5 matches for both Oakland and Detroit to get to the final - that’s more than USL’s.

My point being is that the fall tournament was too short, had a very minimal amount of matches and was arguably pointless. What's the point of the regular season format if every team is included in this one-off tournament? Is Detroit City the better team just because they advanced despite only winning 2 of 3 matches? What about Chattanooga's regular season record? Does that not matter?

USL playoff system makes more sense than...

    whatever this means.

Yes, because this was an ideal year and this was exactly how the league wanted it to work.

The regular season seeded the playoffs. If the Stars had won the regular season, it might have completely upended the way the playoffs played out.

Ultimately, they salvaged the first half of the season and maybe the second half looks more normal. It’s messy, yes, but these clubs don’t have deep resources to play a fuller season with no revenue coming in. They found a workable solution and it seemed to go pretty well.

The comparison to what USL has done would be more appropriate next May. DCFC didn’t win the season, they won the apertura.

The league that has more teams folding and moving to USL than seasons under their belt thinks they can receive Division 2 sanctioning by 2022 in a post-pandemic economic climate.

Huh, looks like they figured out Division 3...

    /facepalm

To be fair there have been challenges this season. Colorado are ahead of 3 teams with more points.

Detroit City FC’s men’s U23 side joins the East Division along with: Livonia FC, Lake St. Clair, BiH Grand Rapids, Lansing Common FC and Inter Detroit. The West Division is comprised of: Union Dubuque FC, RWB Adria, DeKalb County United, Cedar Rapids Inferno, FC Diablos, Rockford FC, Milwaukee Bavarians and Edgewater Castle FC.

At least six of those can be used as recycled minor league baseball team names.

All the names are fine, relax, what's more important than the name is what you do with the name; I'm going trust that will not be a problem for Peter Wilt.

Fans are the ones choosing the name.

I'll say this: I really hope it isn't numbers 3-8

Sting wouldn't be terrible, but otherwise I agree. Not a huge fan of any of them though.

IIRC, Sting trademark and IP rights is still under NASL, LLC according to USPTO. "Second City FC" is fine however you would associate that with Los Angeles than Chicago.

IDK why they didn't go with Chicago Municipal.

    I'd rank them...

    T 1) Chicago Athletic Club
    T 1) Chicago Sting
    3) Second City FC
    4) Chicago Bricklayers
    5) Chicago Railmen
    6) Chicago Elevated
    7) Chicago House
    8) Point Chicago

Best case scenario given these candidates? Name the team the Chicago Athletic Club or Second City FC. Adopt colors of Black, Yellow, and White. Perhaps incorporate a bee - subtly - into the team badge/logo. Utilize "Sting" as the team nickname.

LA? I've only heard Chicago referred to as the Second City.
