Montserrat will be tough. Grenada, Antigua and Barbuda are hard to read they sometimes come out really strong and other times they fall apart don’t ever know what to expect. The only one that we really shouldn’t worry about is USVI I have yet to see them field a competitive team
I think the thing here is that there’s no confidence in this team. Personally, DLC has taken what could be an above average ES team to be a minnow. Juegan cabal al nivel que a muchos equipos del Caribe. But let’s see. Win every home game & scrape wins away. We’ve done it once we should be able to do it again.
Agreed if we had a coach that gave a damn I would feel very differently. He is basically on vacation half the time and when he is “working” I just don’t understand his logic. We have games in a few months and still no clue when the national team will start preparing. This will be tough though Grenada won their group and will be in level A of the nations league. Antigua and Bermuda had their moments and we barely got passed Montserrat a few years ago to get into the 2019 gold cup. I see a lot of people not necessarily here but other places thinking about who we face next round when this round will be really hard
Last I saw late August, I should have saved the tweet. Damn I miss Lara the players really responded to him, respected him and didn’t devolve into all this pesky time wasting bs tactics that always comes back to bite them. Where they still hot heads sure but it wasn’t as prevalent, the question will be convincing the players who are on the fence and the list is probably bigger than what we know.
I'm wondering was Lara worth more than DLC when Lara was the head coach for the national team? I remember the federation saying they couldn't afford to keep Lara. If they're about the same the federation should have kept Lara instead. DLC with usually the same tactics he brings to each match. He has better pool of players to choose from but I don't know what he's basing he decisions on the players he's picking out. Doesn't seem like performance and he hasn't been looking at the abroad options he has either. It would be nice to see RDA, Cienfuegos, or Cerritos main or assistant coaching in the MLS, U.S. Youth team coaching, or coaching in general in other countries. Looking for success and bring it over eventually to the national team. It's too bad Arturo Alvarez hasn't taken that route. Maybe Hugo Perez in the future might have a chance as a main coach or youth coach for El Salvador. I've notice when the goalkeepers that have retired in the recent years look into the club or national teams as goalkeeper coaches. That's been nice to see.
The players probably see it better than us fans. The lack of ideas and tactics. The lack of respect towards the abroad players and performing local players from the coach (ex.: the Bonilla and Zelaya situation, Punyed taking so long to be called up, and random players that haven't performed well with their clubs or barely getting any playing time being picked over other players. Usually it's the goalies). Bringing in a coach that was around the whole matching fixing times probably isn't a good idea either. Rumors and gossips are possibilities from the players that have been around him. With the weird coach's decisions too might have the players 2nd guessing.
I say this. For now, we got screwed. We had one more FIFA match day & depending there we would’ve been through to the hex. & i didn’t see DLC ********ing it up THAT bad. But anyways, now we got what’s in front of us. And the worst thing is i don’t see goal scorers. Hopefully he calls players like Santamaría who are playing abroad. Anything to give us oomph up too cuz we gotta cause trouble to these Caribbean defenders

Am I reading correcting but is DLC saying we have players in Korea (South Korea) and in Guatemala? I don't know any Salvadoran that plays in South Korea. Does anyone in the forum know?
We have no one is South Korea he must mean Thailand either that was an error on the writer or DLC really doesn’t know where the hell our players are at and that is concerning.
I interpreted the author to mean Dustin Corea de Guatemala (Deportivo Mixco) which makes sense since DLC was also discussing another abroad player Pablo Punyed.
The Gil Hurtado brothers are already naturalised Salvadoran citizens, aren’t they? If so, then I imagine Bryan could still switch to ES U-23 or seniors later on if Colombia doesn’t work out? Ultimately, Colombia is the stronger team than ES so if Colombia sought interest in Bryan then I can’t blame him for joining them. It’s not like we weren’t trying to cap him.
I hope so unless he turns out to be a better and gets called up for the senior team. The benefit out of this is he could get a better rep., higher chance of getting scouted, and having a better chance of finding a better club. Also didn't Bryan need to get something approved through FIFA before joining El Salvador's senior team?
