I'm going to wait with the console buy this generation It is my hope that external pressure will force Sony to finally give up on its exclusivity approach so I'll at least get to play their games on PC.

We're already seeing the first signs with Horizon Zero Dawn and Death Stranding coming to Steam.

Otherwise I'm probably going to get a PS5 eventually.

Kinda funny how going to the actual store was a route many people didn't consider and after the online orders were sold out there were pockets of Gamestops still with pre-orders available in store.

    Which PS5 did you get?

The disc version. I wanted the digital, but those were gone instantly. With that mess on Thursday I couldn't really be picky.

FInished my second (very enjoyable) playthrough of Wasteland 3.

Is there anything else out there I should try in terms of recent and semi-recent games?

Did you play "Control"? Was my personal game of the year 2019.

This was our latest 'chaos run' in ESO where we don't have a strategy, we just 'wing it'...

This was 'The Twins' bit of 'Maw Of Lorkaj'. It's only on normal, not vet, but then, there was only 11 of us and, like I say, we didn't use the mechanics at all. We just ran around and bashed stuff :)

Also, there's a new chapter available free...

Ended up getting the Resident Evil 3 remake. I never even played the original!

It's okay so far. I have to say as someone who doesn't like the controls usually (I play on PC), this one is alright.

Whoa, that was over quickly. I think around six hours of gameplay? I forgot how short these games were!

Do you mean WoW? Sorry, I'm too old to devote hundreds of hours just to get up to a respectable level! I haven't played any other MMORPG either, if it's any consolation.

I've never played WoW or any other MMORPG but you don't need to spend a great deal of time to have fun in this as you can do many of the quests even at the lowest levels. A big thing is simply joining together with other random people in the 'zone', (the local area IOW), by putting out a message in chat.

TBH that's actually something that's fun at ANY level.

Got AC Valhalla with my Series X.

Having a ton of fun with it so far. Reminds me a bit more of Origins and seems slightly less bloated that Odyssey

I picked it up too but haven't really dived in to it yet. How is the PS5 treating ya? Is the controller's haptic feed back as impressive as people are saying?

I've only played Astro's Playroom and Miles Morales so far. It was really neat in Astro's though that make sense since it's basically a tech demo. I didn't notice it much in Miles Morales.

I'm still semi skeptical on how many developers are going to use it, but it is cool

This was part of our most recent 'chaos' run# where we ignore strategy, mechanics and even basic common sense on a elder scrolls 12 man trial.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest that someone saying, 'Oh my god... we didn't all die', whilst laughing maniacally at the end probably isn't a good sign :D

What’s is the power mean in the upper left corner? that a DPS meter? Those raid frames add ons look smooth. They new?

I am slightly regretting selling my account, but the reality is I wouldn’t have time with my new schedule to play anyway.

I downloaded it on my PC but have only gotten about 1 1/2 hours in so far. Never played a AC game before but I was sold on this one after watching the trailer.

so far so good. How far in does it take to start building a village?

That's one of my add-ons, 'Combat Metrics', which gives data for damage done, healing given and other data...

    https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info1360-CombatMetrics.html

I've got the latest versions of them if that's what you mean but they've been around for a while I believe.

    I have several others...

    https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info818-LuiExtended.html
    https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info288-LoreBooks.html
    https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info128-SkyShards.html

The DPS data is interesting because some people have really high damage on test dummies but their data in actual raids is often a LOT lower or, more commonly, they tend to die, like, a LOT!!! :D

I try and do a reasonable amount of dps but also stay alive because if you're dead, you're doing NO damage at all.

This is one of my better runs...

That's 'Unhallowed Grave' which is quite new I believe.

    https://alcasthq.com/eso-unhallowed-grave-dungeon-guide/

There's a problem with that one, though, which is that it's quite complicated and seems to have the odd bug which is a pain.

We ended up abandoning it on VET and doing it on normal just to get the quest done for our guy who still had it from the day before.

My guild has a lot of old farts and the attitude of the majority of them is pretty positive which I enjoy. That's actually why I mainly play on the yank server where the attitudes are generally more positive.

Although some people like to think that Americans are more aggressive and negative, in gaming I've usually found them more open, more friendly and just easier to get on with.
I have sometimes started a new guy and tried different options. That can be fun and there are a few new 'classes' which have different skills which are more suited to different roles.

You basically hit the nail on the head regarding dying and high dps. I used to lead raids back in the day in different MMO's and we had to constantly remind people to stop staring and getting distracted by the meters as they would end up dying because they weren't paying attention. Its always an ongoing problem you had to hammer into them.

Also, a test dummy allows you stand still so your rotation doesn't get messed up with movement. The more movement a fight requires the steeper the drop off (50% sometimes), as certain abilities require you to be stationary to cast. The top players are good enough to figure out to move and cast. The drop off really hurts melee as they don't have ranged attacks (generally speaking in MMO's) while moving.
We Americans just whine a lot more on forums. We suck when it comes to that.

Asian gamers just accept what the game gives you for a challenge, put their noses to the grindstone and finish content. Europeans are a happy medium. Americans just cry about difficulty and anything else that doesn't fit our whims. If we spent as much time focusing on gameplay and tactics as we do complaining on social media we would be crushing games alot quicker. Its honestly embarassing;)

Quick question. I did a search and couldn't find anything on it but what do you do with iron ore? Upgrading weapons takes iron ingots and you cant convert? Are they totally unrelated?

Does raw leather need to be somehow converted?

You use the ore to actually upgrade your weapons. The ingots just give you the ability to upgrade.

If you go to your inventory and hover your weapons you'll see an option to upgrade using your ore

I just hit England over the weekend, this game is packed with stuff to do. I didn't play Origin or Odyssey were the assassin missions laid out the same in those titles as they are in this one? Cause I really like the approach they did in this one.
