Doesn't this already exist? It's called the PASL. I could see a new amateur league if there was a pro minor league, but two amateur levels of minor league seems overkill.
Today, it was announced that a local home grown player that has been with the Sidekicks, Cameron Brown, has been signed by the Mesquite Outlaws. I am coming back to this statement and hoping everyone understands how this was handled. Anything the MASL would have done in a restart would we have been a detriment. Happy this did not happen. Restart of any sports in any form is a direct threat to the players coaches and staffs at this point. The players themselves will most likely not be harmed, but their families and the staff could be affected in the worst way. Several NFL players are sitting out a restart along with a head or so in the NBA and NHL. We have seen what has happened to MLS , and MLB.....don't know if it's worth it in the short term. The MASL starting again in the fall is dicey at best. They can't run with no fans. There is 0 revenue at that point. Does not look good...
I agree with you, Joey. While much bigger, the MASL is in a similar situation to the CFL. Little/no TV money, relies almost completely on sponsors and ticket sales. With no fans in the stands, every team will lose money. Same for going to a "bubble" with no fans. MASL teams need fans in their home arenas to survive but, until a proven vaccine is developed, that puts everyone at risk, regardless of cleaning/mask/distancing practices.
i don't think the season will happen until early 2021 at the earliest, the teams simply cant survive playing in front of no fans and with no money coming in.

This dang virus has an IFR in the low fractions of 1%. These response policies are absolute lunacy. Go ahead and flame away. The MASL I'm sure is forced to deny fan attendance and is probably better off staying shutdown until people come to their senses.
Yeah, I'm not gonna dignify the previous post with a direct response. What I am, however, going to do is comment that what the MASL will likely do is spring up more Turlocks in the short term to minimize travel costs this upcoming season as a short-term fix.

I don't see that happening. With the way the economy is, and how quickly the rules can change, I don't believe there would be enough people interested in having their own Turlocks.
Um, you know, I may have bitched about Turlock in the past (and said stance has not changed), but my post was about how MASL will likely need short-distance clubs willing to put on a team and a venue, regardless of quality, just so their more stable franchises won't have to worry about going cross-country just to play matches. There exists this "reserve" league that MASL has which features many clubs that fit the Turlock model, you know? Perhaps they could borrow a few? I'll ignore the second part.
Considering the lack of attendance being a chronic problem indoor football has had for decades, the Wolstein Center may not be the best place to go back to, but it may be where they will settle.
After a 17 year hiatus they can count on about 200 people a game who will care enough that the Crunch is back that they'll go to games. The Force was only getting about 1,500 a game (butts in seats) when they folded.

If the Orlando SeaWolves are out, good riddance. There's no point in keeping a team around that had attendance averages in the low hundreds and on some occasions didn't report, and puts an end to a mismanaged club. Also strange the MetroStars wanted to try again, but if their barnstorming tactic wasn't possible last season, what were their chances this season when playing in Canada is impossible?
