    SOUTHAMPTON V TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR
    PREMIER LEAGUE
    SUNDAY 20 SEPTEMBER
    ST. MARY'S STADIUM
    KICK-OFF: 12.00PM GMT

    THFC Injuries

    - Serge Aurier (late fitness test, knock)
    - Japhet Tangana (out, thigh)

    Southampton Injuries

    - Stuart Armstrong (late fitness test, quad)
    - Mohamed Salisu (being assessed, match fitness)
    - Nathan Redmond (out, ankle)

    Form (all matches)
    THFC - WL
    Southampton - LL

Southampton are coming off of a loss against Brentford in the Carabao Cup, while Spurs are following up a win in Bulgaria against Plovdiv in the Europa League qualifiers.

Personally, I am expecting Toby and Dele to be back in the lineup, and am hoping (fingers crossed) that Ndombele will get the start alongside Lo Celso.

    ek's predicted XI
    Lloris
    Doherty - Alderweireld - Sanchez - Davies
    Ndombele - Lo Celso
    Lucas - Dele - Son
    Kane
The match will be on Peacock in the US.

Getting my vote in! 7am start, bloody hell.

If Hojbjerg is rested I have to think Sissoko or Winks will cover dmid duties. Don’t think Ndombele is up to that.

This squad has gotten a lot harder to spell.

Well, thankfully the early start means I can drink all day, which I wouldn't be able to accomplish unless I start as soon as I'm up!

An unconvincing 5-2. Southampton lost more than Spurs won. Again just nothing creative in the middle of the park.

And Kane doesn't score until September ... again!

We are a miserable lot, aren't we?

By the way, have I mentioned how much I hate VAR?

Just watched the highlights. Noticed a couple of moments by Ndombele which reminded me of Dembele.

And Southampton are going to give up a shit ton of goals if they keep defending like they did.

Came here to say the same thing. The way he shook off two Soton players on the first goal is exactly the kind of thing Dembele would do.

Needed to be virtually a tap in before he could score. Donkey.

A strange game, we looked shite for 45 minutes and could easily have been down 3-0 had Che Evans not missed a couple of sitters. Dier is an absolute pantload in central defense, he was done like a kipper on the first goal and was hopelessly trying to play Ings offside on the early Saints goal that was ruled out for handball.

Second half Southampton ran out of gas on a hot day after smothering us in the first period. That high line reminded me of some of the defenses we come up against in our co-ed 7 on 7 rec league (and we don't have offsides), you could have driven a convoy of 18 wheelers through that lot.

We look a lot like we did last season under Jose: a lot of aimless play in possession, some good counter-attacks and some dreadful defending. With the quality in the side, we get away with it against the weaker clubs but get found out against the better teams. The sooner we get Bale, Reguilon and Tanganga into the XI and Dier out, the better.

Totally agree. Southampton was getting one open shot after another. Doherty got beaten badly a couple times (I thought he was supposed to be good?). I like the 5 goals, but we were lucky to not get blown out in the first half.

A high line with no offsides ...

... somewhere in hell Charles Reep is salivating and rubbing his hands together.

I think our best back 4 would be Doherty and Reguilon as the fullbacks, with a central defense of any 2 of Alderweireld-Tanganga-Sanchez.
