Here's your all-purpose thread/sticky for generic YA news -- odd "Whatever happened to..." posts, questions, and other stuff you just aren't quite sure what to do with.

    Here's last season's:

Here's an archive of YA "All About..." threads (they used to be much more interesting and active, worth a look if you want to see some blasts from the past):

Here's the Detective Work thread if you're interested in researching guys who might be Yanks Abroad:

    And the obligatory old-school photo:

German article about how a US troop withdrawal would affect local clubs. You need to have a free account to read the full article.

USL Madison signed a guy named Noah Fuson:

Fuson grew up in Los Angeles, but moved to the i2i Soccer Academy in England after high school to focus on starting a professional career. Prior to signing with the Flamingos, Fuson had earned trials with Sacramento Republic FC and Loudon United FC of the USL Championship.

i2i seems to be one of those post-HS showcase-and-school programs.

That oughta do it. You can also delete any stray Yeats if needs be.

    Thank you!

I guess this has been a year when the worst were full of passionate intensity.

Since he's been back in the States for a while, I'll just note here the NISA Md. Bobcats' signing of a young man who has played in El Salvador:

He was born in England, as the club states, so I guess it's possible that he isn't American, though he was apparently slated to attend the USNA; that is possible for non-citizens, but sufficiently unlikely that it seems OK to post here.

Huh, I remember that name, I think probably from this announcement. At the time the Cosmos didn't say he was American; maybe he wasn't. In any case, I haven't looked into it.

That release is quite the roll call of assorted YAs!

German sources reported last year that Leroy Sané (yes, that one) had a son with his American girlfriend, Candice Brook, in addition to the daughter they already had together. For whatever reason this has not been widely reported/confirmed that I could find, which might just be the family's preference, or who knows. I mention this mainly because ... why not? (And, for the record, in addition to Sané being German, his father played for Senegal.)
