Facundo Medina with a bicycle kick goal in Ligue 1:

You guys may remember him from the U-23 NT (he played in both the Panamerican Games and the Pre-Olympic Qualifier Tournament earlier this year) and also our U-20s...

This was the left-back's third game in Europe, having transferred to Lens from Talleres during this transfer window. Not a bad way to introduce himself to the French... at just 21, he may be one to keep in mind for the future.

He’s not playing for the Real Madrid, Bayern Munich’s of the world.

    Disregard.

I’m surprised @RiverGaucho did not come here talking about how two Bosteros got red cards in the PSG v OM match.

He’s been pretty solid in the first 3 games. A bit jittery on his debut jumping into tackles but has settled nicely in a back 3.

    Paredes is a clown tho.

Marcos Acuña to Sevilla for €12M. Huevo joins Ocampos and Mudo Vazquez in a club that has generally served Argentine players well (Mercado, Banega, Correa, Perotti, Fazio, etc.)

Looks like they plan to use him as a LB rather than as a winger.. I wonder if he'll be ready to go for the UEFA Super Cup vs. Bayern in 10 days?

The good news is that given Sevilla's recent Europa League win, he'll be seeing Champions League action this season.

For now it's a tug-of-war between clubs, but the good news is that RDP himself seems to be prioritizing the right options, aiming for the move to Leeds. Udinese, however, are leaning towards the Zenit offer since it is superior from a financial standpoint (closer to the €35M the Italians want).

Anywhere but Russia, please.. we don't need more players' careers destroyed.

    In the meantime, there's this:

He’s apparently told them he doesn’t want to go to Russia. And I don’t think anybody can blame him. There is also a rumor that Fiorentina are also interested.

RDP is smart enough not to go to Russia with him being an almost guaranteed lock in the national team.

Nahuel Molina is going to Udinese. Hope RDP and Musso helps him settle well.

I know the league isn't on yet with no time table of going back up... but I was thinking of subscribing to a streaming service that carries the Superliga in Canada.... any suggestions?

    Cant do streams anymore.

FuboTV and Fanatiz are you best bet.

TV has actually gotten bad again here in the States. They were putting certain Champions League matches on pay for watch. When just a couple years ago, all the matches were free on Fox or Espn.

Or the libertadores, when it was on Fox, we would get commentary from back home. Now? It is amateur hour.

Thanks I' ll check them out. In Canada it's decent you get DAZN it has all the EPL games plus Serie A. Bein has Lique 1 and La liga. I have both and no complaints other than the lack of South America footy or the Dutch league. Mind you I wouldnt care of not watching the Dutch league but since Tags,Senesi and Lisandro are there it's good to have.

BeIN is ass, to be honest. I can’t stand their coverage on either language. Espn plus is good for the Serie A, and some other leagues, since you can get every single game. And it is only 5 dollars a month. I’ve got that Disney Bundle, that I don’t use, other than Hulu.

When I first moved to the states permanently in 2005, there was Fox Soccer Channel(Or it was Fox Sports World. I do remember watching Fox Sports World when my family I would visit relatives here prior to 05) and they would show games from the Primera, which was great. There was also GolTV (and I don’t even know how they’re even functioning) that would show decent games as well.

The “Latin American”(Aka the Mexican network) channels here, Univision, Telemundo, and whatever else is awful as well. But again, every now and then they aired matches some years back.

FPT was awesome for us in the US. We could just go on YouTube and watch it on our television. But once again, we can’t nice things. People from home need to ruin shit.

But one thing has improved. We get qualifiers here on BeIN. I guess that is a plus. Prior to that, you had to stream it or you had to go to some shitty sports bar in the valley, and pay to watch. But it was pretty fun, especially when we spanked the brazucas 3-1 duding the 06 qualifiers. Right, @locoxriver? :D

Bein the channel in canada is very good or at least decent its the app thats trash. Fincky, glitchy, no replays, no highlights. Its a waste tbh.

The calls ups have been made for next months qualifiers.... no Lisandro, no Senesi no Martinez from River plate. What a joke.

Otamendi, Balerdi, Kannerman, and Medina have done nothing to warrant a spot. Balerdi being there is beyond ridiculous considering how much of a bust he’s been since his move to Europe. Foyth too. This is beyond stupid it’s likely they don’t have the Dutch league. Tbh

The goalkeepers are correct. Balerdi needs to play along with Foyth to justify selection. I would like DM have Senesi in. The base of midfield looks suspect to me with GR and Paredes.

Could have tried Lisandro instead seeing as Santi is not about. Players must get the message that in order to be picked they need to play regularly. Foyth is kicking time at Spurs. He needs to move. Balerdi needs to get his career moving as well. Pavon is tearing it up. But it is the MLS so that is a question mark. Needs to come to Europe and try his hand to see if he really has improved. Still too one dimensional for me. Nice to see Joaquin Correa in after his efforts with Lazio. Can provide the unexpected.

Quarta and Montiel I assume will be domestic call ups. Kun still out with injury of course.

    Here is the list.

Take a breather, chief. It isn’t that big of a deal. It is the first round of the qualifiers. By the end, faces will change.

Let’s just go and get these matches out of the way and collect 6 points.

And this is a list of players abroad. I’m sure it will be cut down to 23.

There are some nice additions. Nico Dominguez and Gonzalez, Nehuen Perez, and Medina are all positives. Will they make the final cut is another question. But at least they are on Scaloni’s radar. But I do have to chuckle at Pavon. I was just discussing him and relax @Pekerman, I don’t think he makes the final cut.

The issue is that its a constant problem not choosing the right players. It is a big deal when you should use these games to prep from Copa. JMO

According to Ole, the domestic players that will be added to the preliminary list are:

    - Armani
    - Andrada
    - Montiel
    - Martinez Quarta
    - Zaracho (recently tested positive for COVID-19 and missed Racing's Libertadores game yesterday as a result)
    - Nacho Fernandez
    - Salvio

Then you should probably lower your expectations. As it is the case with most managers, they have their favorite players and will continue to call them. Granted, Scaloni has continued to bring in new faces. He’s experimented.

The forwards are fine. No complaints.

Midfield/wings are good. We have high energy guys who can pass. We can use a destroyer but we haven’t had an effective one in years(Masche was done as a DMF for years). But it is what it is.

The defense needs work but as I said, give it time. Otamendi will be phased out. Bringing in a new CB is perhaps the hardest thing to do. With that position you need trust. And it isn’t a shocker why managers are hesitant to replace players with tenure.

GK- We can’t ask for more. This is the best we have.

All in all, this is a good list.

    I expect something like this:

    Musso
    Montiel - Kannemann - Pezzella - Tagliafico
Lo Celso - Paredes - De Paul
    Ocampos
    Messi - Lautaro

I would prefer it if younger centerbacks like Romero, Lisandro Martinez, Lucas Martinez Quarta or Senesi were given a chance but that looks unlikely right now.
