    I’m excited by Krumbiegel
But MVT will probably play Oberdorf as a CB and Gwinn as a RB... seriously why can’t German coaches play players in the positions they play

easy to answer; while missing world class players in certain areas like CB’s & central strikers, Germany producers an over abundance of quality mids. And now with MVT switching to an 4-3-3, what else to do with those extra mids?

personally thinks it’s a mistake to produce the inter-changeable type player, when the rest of the world is about well defined roles. But at least with her choice of Krumbiegel, MVT realizes that she needs faster & more physical players if she wants to remain viable. Watching her last game; Krumbiegel was a little weak in 1v1 defending, so right now remains an project. But hopefully for the two upcoming games, MVT will switch the entire starting lineups like she did at Algarve Cup. Especially vs Montenegro which Germany beat last time 10-0.

here's an blast from the past via 2014 when Germany took on last Ireland. The Germans should of been at their peak since it featured that year's p.o.y. Nadine Kessler/they've won the Algarve Cup in high fashion, the u20 won the WC/ but Ireland gave them a surprising hard time, only loosing 2-3 after Melanie Leupolz scored the game winner at th 92 min mark(highlights below). Wvem the 2nd game was just an mild 2-0 win for the Germans

that's MVT could make an statement by winning big when they take on Ireland again

Does anyone know why Huth is still playing [emoji1]? No wonder Wolfsburg got nothing going on their right flank in the CL Final...

Is this like an ACL?/approx how long will she be out?
one month before the friendly with England, Germany experiencing an mini injury crisis with Dallmann, Dourdoon. Demann Gwinn Buhl Petermann Knaak Bremer possibly out
so she scores vs the 31 ranked team in the world, but defends atrociously terrible at the WC quarters vs Sweden

    I wonder what’s more important?
just like the Kate Perry song; she’s hot & cold, bi polar love affair with her; tackles really well, scored or got the assist vs Sweden(at Algarve Cup) & Barcelona/or goes completely cold. It’s still better than some of the German players like Maro who finally scored after 3 years for the NT.
Overall, another competent German manskraft victory but missing that ‘superstar’ flair from its players, that’s why my pre WC prediction was Holland was going to beat them in the semis(Sweden screwed up that prediction). Hurts that possibly future teen stars Buhl is out & MVT insists on using Oberdorf as an CB(she’s not a very good defender, as shown yesterday when the ball was stripped from her at an dangerous spot. Hope MVT uses some of the promising newbies in Wasmuth & Krumbiegel on Tuesday

I think it is called LCL in English (German: Außenband; Kreuzband is ACL)
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibular_collateral_ligament
Usually someone with an LCL injury shouldn`t do sports in the next 2 months.

here's the full replay Montenegro vs Germany's B squad,
it's hard to say if starting newbies Freigang Kumbriegel & Wassmuth had a great match; none of them could play their own style as MVT insisted on an disciplined, slowed down, passing game that gave their opponents plenty of time to set their triangle defense of 5 back/ 4 mid line. Hopefully their get another chance when they take on 2nd last place Greece again

I'm glad to see Leupolz stepping up for country and club over the last years. Looks better than ever after her move to Chelsea

Also impressed by Krumbiegel, the team needs types like her
And Felicitas Rauch... has she ever shown a good performance for the NT? I'd say drop her, she can't even play as a LB anymore for Wolfsburg lol because they prefer players who aren't even natural LBs

here were my impressions of the individual players(though it could of been an completely different game if only MVT allowed quicker attacks before the opposing defence settled in)

    3-4-3 formation

Freigang(center fwd)---might of missed too many chances as lots of the passes her handed to her on an silver platter. She'll probably stay 3rd in line for(grade C+)

Starke(left fwd)---barely visibe, got over shadowed on the left side by Krumbiegel & Rauch, should luck out on future chances, especially when Buhl returns(C-)

Wassmuth(right-fwd) mixed on her; in one way tried to be a good little girl & obey MVT's orders & go along with the slowed down, passing style. But really needed not to be so timid, take charge & attack some 1v1. Didn't help that right behind her, lil Leo kept fumbing the ball out of bounce half the time! But than worse was her replacement, Magull, who seemingly refused to pass to Wassmuth, instead kept driving the ball through the center(B-)

lil Leo(outside right mid) is there really anymore to say?(D+)

Leupolz(center right-mid) with the experience she's got now, obviously solid. But will she be starter when there so many top echelon mids on the squad? Leupolz still got an very athletic feel about her compared to the other mids(A)

Lohmann(center left-mid) she got an goal, but otherwise had a hard time taking the ball through the densely populated center.. Has strong future going for her but playing/starting time will depend on how weak the oppoenent going to be(B-)

Latwein(right FB) barely had to defend & kept passing to others when she sould of tied more to make things happen(C-)

Kleinheme(central CB) as the only real CB, she didn't have much defending to do & had only an minor hitch when she fell(but the slowpoke, opposing fws) couldn't take advantage) but otherwise Il iked her, she proved to be very agile all over the field/was at the right spot at the right time. Probably would serve better as an FB, but then again, Germany is an dire need of an defensive specialist(A-)

Rauch(left FB) though she not particular, she's not bad at what she does, it's that we know Germany can do better! But with Gwinn out with an ACL, she will still get call ups,(C+)

Krumbiegel(left outside-mid) obviously an very impressive debut! Her physical aggressiveness & speed was all over the place/not just in direct attacking soccer but hustling back from her left side to the right to stop counters. Got the feeling though MVT must be thinking Krumbiegel is more Ford GTO muscle car than the 'drive like an well oiled BMW' which more what she's more aiming for(A)

Maro & Magull(subs) didn't like their presence as they just started passing to each in their drives down the middle which usully went nowhere. This game would of been a great time to start Oberdorf. She would of gotten some quick long ball passes off & get a little more oomph into the game

6 defenders lol. And one of them is Oberdorf who's a freaking midfielder... and Rauch who's not even playing as a LB any longer lol

And why isn't Krumbiegel in this squad anymore? MVT started off really well, but now it all seems like a mess again

yeah, after such an impressive debut, I’m annoyed too that Krumbiegel didn’t make it, but maybe she’ll replace Popp?

Sooner or later I knew Anyomi was going to be chosen, but why now when she hasn’t been looking good(only 1 goal to her credit) or nobody from Potsdam, who are the surprise team of the current season?

with Doorsoun out, there’s no doubt MVT will go with her beloved Hegering/Oberdorf combo at CB, but both have problems with 1v1 defending. To make up for it, hopefully she’ll go with the two speedsters, Hendrich & Kleinherne at FB

but got to wonder how much discipline MVT expects from her players as she’s didn’t pick Elsig or Krumbiegel(who likes to go on individual runs rather than MVT/Jorgie Low’s one touch, team passing concept)
