Agree on that last part in terms of risk being low but don’t see where he gets minutes at Madrid with AO returning and Isco still being here as a more midfield-y attacking 3 option.
Fair point on Isco, I had forgotten about the magic minutes he seems to build up. Is the club perhaps looking to slowly make him more dispensable? Even though he doesn’t complain about game time and isn’t a “political” character.
#thfc midfielder Dele Alli will not be joining Real Madrid.
Edu Pidal also says no truth to Alli to RM rumours.
#thfc and Real Madrid are both hopeful an agreement can be reached over a loan deal for Gareth Bale. Understand that Dele Alli was offered to Real Madrid as part of the negotiation for Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon’s transfers to Tottenham. Madrid declined to take the England international.https://t.co/o03TZ6qtic https://t.co/RR0txYDhfm— Duncan Castles (@DuncanCastles) September 15, 2020 Madrid declined Dele. Well done Flo
So that’s James and Bale (almost) gone, Zizou getting his way. I wonder what assurances have been given to him about next summer, assuming the pandemic impact subsides...
Amazing news.Bale is finally gone,Reguion is going to a good team.I got scared when i saw Dele Alis name and was like WTF IS GOING ON....but it seems like everything will end great for us
Mariano still here? So far all in all good summer. Dont need to buy something just to buy better safe the cash for 2021 splash! p.s. nice rhime
Today’s Bale news is obviously long overdue and looks very promising, but I won’t get too excited until anything becomes more concrete. Lots to sort out still with his salary. That being said, I will give Flo & our management a huge amount of credit if they can get these Bale and Reguilon deals over the line, along with moving out Mayoral and Mariano. I would consider that a hugely successful window that would set us up really well for next summer.
🚨 Talks continue today over Gareth Bale’s possible return to Tottenham from Real Madrid. Not done but optimism on all sides that 31yo will become a #THFC player again.W/ @JackPittBrooke @CDEccleshare @lauriewhitwell @dermotmcorrigan @TheAthleticUK #RMFChttps://t.co/GjFGZpnKV8— David Ornstein (@David_Ornstein) September 16, 2020 Real Madrid are open to paying half of Gareth Bale's wages to get a loan-deal over the line. Just in: Sergio Reguilon to Tottenham, here we go soon! The agreement has been reached on last few hours with Real Madrid for €30m as final fee. Reguilon agreed personal terms with Spurs and accepted to join also after talks with #MUFC. Only paperworks to be signed. ⚪️🤝 #THFC— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) September 16, 2020 Tottenham have conceded to Real Madrid BOTH clauses they’ve asked for Reguilon: buy back and pre-emption.#MUFC have always refused any clause to bring back the player - it was the main issue. ⚪️🇪🇸 #THFC📲 The final price of the clauses and more details: https://t.co/CrRIIC5XOA— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) September 16, 2020
https://theathletic.com/2069023/2020/09/16/gareth-bale-spurs-tottenham-real-man-united/ Says here that Levy, even more so than Mou, is the one pushing to get this Bale deal done. Which came as a surprise to me, but I guess he likes it from a PR/business perspective. This along with Barnett’s comments make me think this is actually happening.
That's a good deal for Reguilon. I think he'll thrive at Tottenham. I hope we also manage to get rid of Bale. Would be good for all parties.
Actually think Alli could do ok for you guys. For 2-3 years he was arguably the best late-run-into-the-box type CM in the PL. Lost his way a bit over the last couple of years with his role changing but the player is in there, he just needs someone to help him find it again.
Problem is he won't get enough minutes as we have Odegaard, Isco and ZZ mostly prefers 4-3-3. Hazard, Vinicius, Rodrygo and Asensio fighting for wing spots too. Alli won't get his confidence back sitting on the bench so it's better for him to join another PL club where he can start a lot.
If this happens then Mayoral and Mariano left to sell. Selling Lucas for any fee would be a success since his contract expires next summer. 20 for Mariano, 15 for Lucas and 15 for Mayoral. A handy 50 M to finance next summer. Plus like 11M after tax in wages saved. So 22M over a year(tax).
Mourinho: "I tried to sign Gareth Bale for Real Madrid which was not possible to do during my time there; then he arrived when I left the club. There is no secret on that. Even Gareth knows that. But I'm not going to speak about him anymore because he is a Real player". ⚪️ #THFC— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) September 16, 2020 José Mourinho is pushing to have Bale back at Tottenham and negotiations are on with Real Madrid about his wage. Sergio Reguilon deal is 'here-we-go' as said today morning and done with Real Madrid, paperworks to be signed on next hours. Confirmed. ⚪️ #Spurs #THFC #RMFC— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) September 16, 2020
That Reguilon deal is sweet. Let's hope the Bale negotiations go well; hopefully a permanent transfer to end this nightmare.
