Memphis is carrying the load up front and if we win the group, we need help up front to win Nations League (defenders and midfielders are more solid than forwards).

Hopefully Robben has the fitness and light it up so the new coach give him a recall later this year or next year:

:D, if not him the attacking help was kept at home. Malen and Boadu.

Nah, I think Robben should stay retired. I absolutely loved him as a player, but it’s time to let go of that generation of players.

We have plenty of attacking talent coming through the ranks and Robben wold only stand in the way of their development and valuable experience.

What about this guy? Has anyone followed Silvester van der Water?

Cody Gakpo is the attacker to watch this season... I'd speculate that he will be the next front player called to Oranje NT in the not-so-distant future. He did have a solid second half of last season, before it was shut down by Covid.

I only watched the second half of PSV match today, but he was clearly the MoTM. Aside from the two goals, his lanky strides, speed and overall movement were quite nice. Also improved his upper body strength, seemed to hold up his defenders better. Hopefully he finds the consistency and keeps improving!! It would be nice to have a tall imposing striker in Oranje who can score and run fast (the anti-Luuk de Jong :whistling:)

Donyell Malen had an eventful night. One goal, one shot hit the post, and one missed PK. Good to see him running again after the horrific injury.

Madueke was monstrous as well, but he's English

I remember reading about Willem Guebbles here sometime back. He has a dutch father I think. Well looks like he has hit the ground rolling at Monaco. Should he be tracked even though he has been representing france at Youth level.

Both de telegraaf and nos reporting it. Seems legit.

  10. You can't have the whole Orange Team play in Barcelona:eek:

Sure hope not. When that was the case at Real Madrid in the past it didn’t quite pan out, and they had arguably better players with Robben, van der Vaart and Sneijder.

The duo of Memphis & Frenkie getting increased playing time together and developing partnership... yes please, for Oranje's sake :geek:

And how about some appreciation of Memphis' determination, resiliency and hard work after the seemingly "failure" at M. Utd...? Incredible stuff

Ihattaren supposedly wants to switch to Morocco after being left on the bench for both games. Wonder how much truth there is to the rumor

I guess we will see next month if Mo is called up again to Oranje squad. I am sure that he was given a lot of assurance by Oranje team that he is still part of the plan going forward, etc... they'd be foolish not to do so!

More curious to me was why he started on the bench in PSV's first game last weekend. Is he carrying a knock, or lacking fitness, or what? He came in the second half, and seemed to be okay.

  17. He was disciplinary punished by the coach for not giving what he has in training.

  18. Expect alot of this shit stirring rumours since the FIFA changed the rules.

Not that I necessarily believe the rumors fully, but i'm sure there's partial truth to it with Mo being very frustrated, getting completely overlooked and getting trashed in the football media. Lodeweges really really ********ed up. I can't believe this situation is happening again while he literally only had to bring in Mo instead of Luuk for 2 ********ing minutes! How stupid is he?!
Sure the rules have changed a bit, but had Mo played he would have been tied for at least 3 years. That pretty much means there's no way he would have switched to Morocco unless he just simply doesn't become good enough of a player for Oranje, which I doubt.
Now Lodeweges has put Oranje in a really bad situation. Imagine that Mo has a tough start to the season with PSV. Not only is he maybe doubting his choices more, but it also puts the bondscoach in a bad situation. He won't be able to justify calling up Mo and giving him playing time if he's not performing well at PSV. However if we don't call him up and give him his debut we continue to risk him switching over to Morocco. In these last two games playing Mo would have made sense after a good season and because a player exactly like Mo was needed. It's gonna be a really awkward period which absolutely sucks for everyone involved, most of all Mo! We could have squashed all of this shit, instead now we're going to have to hear about this for months again.
To be honest i'm actually afraid things could go wrong and Mo will have a bad period under Schmidt which could lead to him stepping over to Morocco who will gladly cap a non-performing Ihattaren. I just can't believe we put ourselved in this situation again. Lodeweges in my opinion in his first two matches has already put himself beyond the level of even Danny Blind in terms of absolute failure as a coach. It's just horrible, and honestly if we lose out on Mo I will be pissed. To be honest it might be enough for me to completely stop watching or following the national team outside of major tournaments.... which is easier said than done but I think I would make a legitimate effort to stop giving a shit. The KNVB is just a terrible organisation.

The blunt fact is The Nations League competition is a joke. It's just another way to enrich UEFA. The two competitions that matter are the Euros and the WC. Friendlies and this joke of a competition should be used to try out new young players and different tactics. Find out who can play and what the best way to do so! It was not just Ihatteren but the AZ players as well ( though after they were so bad last night I have questions there). These matches mean that Babel, Blind, Strootman, etc. are not to be called up.

  21. ? Trashed?

  22. @DutchFanatic I understand what you posted, but Mo isnot going to doubt his choice for Oranje over a stinker caretakerjob by Lodeweges. Remember, and it's very important, the reason he chose the Orange team was because of how his father got the care he needed when ill and during the time it was clear he wouldnot survive. That's a damn strong reason, which his mother fully supports, for making a choice and it has to take some earth shattering event to make his mind change. He had a very strong bond with his father, so he will feel betraying his father if he chooses to switch.

Calvin Stengs was red-carded inside the opening 17 minutes today... reckless challenge with studs up. Put his team in a difficult position for rest of the match. AZ fell behind 0-1 not long after, and then Myron Boadu equalized in the second half.

Memphis Depay linked to Inter Milan. This without a doubt should be next stepping up club for him especially with Conte deploying 2 man upfront. Him and lukaku could make a deadly strike force.

Im not sure the tempo of La liga suits him regardless of koeman being at the helm at Barcelona.
