Saw it too, he was amazing, like a Kante who can play football too. Even if he can't maintain this level he is still a steal for 25 mill

A joke if we try to sign Veretout for more.

Ya but Ancelotti was the worst. Maybe they should have gave him the players he asked for.

I'll say it 100 times over. ADL is the main reason for all the troubles. Those who doubt that should look at what happens to players and managers that leave this atmosphere.

Don't forget he also added Doucoure. Those two in the middle, with James behind the striker is going to be a story to watch.

I don’t think anyone disputes it.

I don’t rate Ancelotti at all but you cannot bring him and not even give him the 2 or 3 players he wants.

The same this year with Gattuso. He has an incomplete squad with half the players like Koulibaly not even having their heads right.

Hysaj ready to extend at Napoli
    By Football Italia staff
    [IMG]

Napoli are reportedly close to agreeing a new contract with Albania international full-back Elseid Hysaj.

The 26-year-old is only tied to the club until June 2021, so must either be sold this summer or risk leaving as a free agent.

At the Stadio San Paolo since 2015 and spending practically his entire career in Italy, Hysaj had seemed set to leave a few months ago.

According to CalcioNapoli24.it, the situation has changed thanks to coach Gennaro Gattuso, who asked for him to remain.

They are optimistic about talks that would take his new contract to June 2025.

Hysaj has been linked with a move to the Premier League, particularly for Tottenham Hotspur and Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton.

There is talk this morning in the papers that Napoli are considering holding on to K2 because things are dragging. I think this is another bluff by ADL.

    Well said

He wouldn't give Sarri the players he wanted, and then chased him out. He brings in Ancelotti, and can't even get him James. Now we have Gattuso with nothing five days before the season starts? That's how you support the managers you employ?

The market is terrible right now for everyone not just Napoli. Teams can't spend money as they did. Player swaps are also difficult to conclude. Teams are being punished for holding on to guys who have inflated contracts and values. Our biggest issue right now for me is that our roster is bloated. Before we make any moves, we need to trim the fat.

Milik, Llorente, Ciciretti, Younes, Luperto and Ounas need to get sold/loaned out immediately. I would make these my main focus even before selling k2 or buying Veretout

You are right but we have faced this issue every year. This year it is just worse and others have similar problems.

But Guintoli has a lot to answer.

Milik to Roma can be finalized today. There were rumors that he rejected the deal, but those were false.

    In the meantime:

    Sky: Napoli in Deulofeu talks
    By Football Italia staff

Napoli have reportedly entered talks with Watford over Gerard Deulofeu, looking to sign the former Milan winger on loan with an option to buy.

Sky Sport Italia reports the Partenopei have contacted the Hornets and that the player will be open for a move to the San Paolo.

Napoli have therefore started negotiating a deal with the Championship side, who are prepared to cash in on the Spanish attacker.

The report claims Napoli want Deulofeu on loan with an option to buy but could be forced to make it an obligation to convince Watford.

The 26-year-old spent six months on loan from Everton at San Siro in 2017, contributing four goals and three assists in 17 Serie A games for Milan.

    - Under has exited the equation in the Milik deal because his wage demands were too high

    - Bernadeschi refused a transfer away from Juve

    - Fiorentina would gladly sell us Chiesa, but we are unwilling to meet transfer fee demands. Also we don't have anything they want in swap

So it very well might be Deulofeu

What is wrong with under? Forgive me if I'm wrong but isn't he fast, has a good shot, an excellent dribbler and possesses good vision as well?

Under is an amazing talent imo. Whenever I watch Roma he is the standout player offensively with Dzeko

If he can stay injury free we might actually have a rw none of us have a problem with

Callejon was great and gave the team balance. But he was a starter for too long and was on a decline. Additionally, he missed too many opportunities and under Ancelotti and Gattuso who relied more on individual talent he struggled.

Callejon is better than Lozano, Politano and probably Under. I think Under is much better than Politano and Lozano who has been very poor in pre-season.

But to challenge we need someone more consistent than Under and with our fragile midfield, someone who can provide balance and I am not sure Under at the salary he wants is the answer.

Under is a gamble and I would prefer him to what we now have but on a lower salary. But Roma won’t sell so it is a pointless discussion.

I think our squad is like last season. Milik, Callejon and Allan have been replaced by Osimhen who I don’t rate. I think it is similar to selling Jorginho and hoping Fabian can do his job. Now we expect Osimhen to score the goals we need.

Additionally, our midfield is very fragile.

Without a good aggressive ball winner in the midfield, we can forget about Napoli changing the shape. This mercato has been a non event. We're getting rid of two #9's to add two new ones. I'm hopeful that Osimhen will turn into a good striker but I'm not holding my breath. I am fully prepared for him to be a flop. (Napoli fans on twitter act like we signed Lewandowski)

Rrhamani is a great signing, but as of today he is still the #4 defender behind K2,Maksi and Manolas. Now if you remove K2 from the equation and add Sokratis or Senesi, this hasn't improved anything.

Ghoulam is also staying. No one will take him on 4.5M.

Our wage bill is very high.
