Yep. Not as a DP level player, but as a veteran presence in his last year or two for a brand new team. As I said, I’d bet any amount of money on it happening

Since there were no PFA Best XI awards this year, I was looking around for fans' and pundits' Championship Best XI this year (mostly just to see whether Antonee Robinson was anywhere in the conversation), and I was surprised to see Tim Ream's name pop up several times on just the first page of Google results.

See for example here, or here, or Stuart Raynor's pick here, or Sky commentator Gary Weaver's pick in the audio discussion for this feature. It doesn't sound like he would be a consensus pick, but he does get his fair share of recognition among followers of the league.

If he were five years younger and had not failed in the EPL already, there'd be clubs lining up to buy him. Best Yank in the Ch'ship this season by a good margin.

Fulham have reportedly made an offer to Barcelona for Gerard Pique.

lol, I guess it's possible if Shakira wants to move to London.

According to "the Peruvian outlet, Libero."

A Peruvian outlet "reporting" on a transfer involving a Catalan player moving from Spain to England.

As fun as it would be if it was true, it's definitely bullshit.

Big launch of the new season with the first game tomorrow v Arsenal.

Might Ream and Robinson be side-by-side?

Some of their fans are taking a positive approach to Tim's remaining a starter:

    https://www.friendsoffulham.com/forum/index.php?topic=77313.0

Tim Ream really suits our style. Without question, one-on-one against a quick premiership striker, he's struggling big time but he has great positional sense and if every player does their bit around our defence, we won't be the punch bag that some people thing.

I trust them [Hector and Ream] too though. I think they will surprise a few especially with the protection of zambo, reed in front of them

Tim has done brilliantly for the club. We need to strengthen central defense and that is no more a reflection on him that signing top class keeper was connected to Rodaks performances.

At this point we just need to get behind the lads. They will need us this year and hate to think that people will get on their backs early if results aren't flowing.

    Etc.

A nice break from all the "So Long and Thanks For All the Fish" approach other fans have with respect to Tim.

Ream starts, Bryan on the outside.

Edit: Ream's 200th appearance for Fulham.

Ream is good for one large goof up each game. It happened many times last year and he got away with it because Hector either cleared it up or the championship forwards couldn't convert. I really like Ream, but Fulham don't survive this year if he's a regular starter.

On the bright side our boy wasn't the difference in this match. Fulham looking every bit like a yo-yo club headed for another relegation..

0-3 FT. Yes, I think it is safe to say Fulham isn’t at Arsenal’s level. Except for the muffed clearance, Ream was ok. Good with the ball.

edit: the clearance was mind of unlucky. It was a wide open shot from the top of the box that was going to miss the goal but went right into Ream’s shins. Not a good look but kind of awkward how it came about and result.

I fear you could probably copy and paste this short review, with only the slightest of alterations, for plenty of games to come this season. Hope Ream proves me wrong though.

I put in an edit on the clearance. It was unfortunate and kind of unlucky.

Should've been sent off with a second yellow for that challenge on Xhaka around the 73rd minute, too.

Ream's error on the first goal was inexcusable for this level of play. They need two new CBs immediately.
