There was an ex player on TalkSport this morning saying that they didn’t make a mistake ... they simply chose to break the rules with no consideration to their teammates , England staff .. family or club..
I’d seriously ditch them both . We now have Coady .. maybe White !? Winks and Phillips to replace Rice . Dier is too slow and loses concentration so easily .. he’s liked because he ‘gets stuck in’ .. Rice I simply don’t get .. mobile and tough isn’t enough at this level . Poor control and dreadful passer .
Sounds like he really likes them .. A well known manager apparently said that you have to be careful when you are setting rules and punishments as it’s always the players that you LIKE who end up breaking the rules
a mollycoddled life? Maybe in terms of football, but he’s from a very working class area and I’d imagine he had quite a down to earth up bringing both him and greenwood are too good to ignore
The evolution of Jack Grealish conspiracy theorists and the Alex Jones-esque videos over the last months is certainly one of the more stranger developments of the national team!
Didn't City pay for him to be privately educated? It's all speculation as we obviously don't know the guy, but I'd assume being told you're the next big thing as a young kid will lead your psyche/personality to develop differently from those in the squad who've come up from the lower leagues.
probably most city youngsters go to a college called st Bedes - think it’s called, but it’s mainly focused around football, so it’s not exactly posh.. You’re right it’s all speculation, but form what I’ve heard he’s a very down to earth guy. One incident doesn’t change that. Knowing the area he’s from as well adds to that
Its real unfortunately. If you look from 1:54 he is talking about new debuts and doesn't even mention Jack which is why the interviewer asked about him. He then talks about Mason mount first.
Can’t help but think that Southgate will do all he can to keep Grealish out of his plans unless like on this occasion injuries forced his hand. I think the next Squad selection at end of the month will be telling.
The interview was fine. He didn't mention all of the players who had a debut either. Maybe Southgate is just tired of the media banging on about Grealish......
Yeah, wasn’t really judging from the interview, it’s just a gut feeling I have. I hope I’m wrong off course, it’s just past comments about how he’s behind others in the Squad and he doesn’t see Grealish as a 10 or an 8 either from memory. I personally see Grealish as a 10 or 8 especially if Southgate plays two other defensive midfielders.
Unlike most of the people on here, I like Southgate and think that he’s the best manager we’ve had since Venables. Next month’s fixtures are of paramount importance. I still hold hope that he will have learned and adapted accordingly. If he still persists with the double pivot and lack of central creativity though then he deserves to go.
I know this isnt the duel thread but this is what a wales fan wrote...absolute bollocks. 'Ooh,Ooh it's much, much...much more than 'rich'! Its one rule for them, its an unbelievable superiority complex, maybe they're blind to it I don't know. All I say is this, Wales has a huge database of qualified players, and in 99% of instances we invite them into our development squads when they're still in single figures. Over the years they're nurtured etc...well y'know the rest...like Morell's dad said recently, the system is a family that makes you feel at home. No pressure, you stay because you want to and, so far bar a couple, they've all stayed. Basically we've had these lads since they were kids, and along with their parents and clubs, we've helped in their development. Those that haven't followed the path, i.e. Hal, Moore, Ash, Vaulks etc were internationally unattached at the time of our approach. Now England? Slightly different story. They spy a dual qualified player attached to another nation and they'll wait, they'll leave him there until it becomes obvious there's something about him, then they'll work on turning his head. Someone else has worked hard with the kid for years but suddenly he's snatched away. They've tried now to steal Woodburn, Wilson, Ampadu, DaSilva, Smith, Brooks, Matondo and now Neco. Southgate had a bitchfit in the press the morning after Woodburn scored for us. But if he wants them then they should bloody well do the hard yards and approach them as kids like we do! As Cledwyn Ashford said at the time of Southgate's quote "we don't steal other nation's players, maybe someone should ask him about that!". He then confirmed they've had to deal with more covert approaches than the ones I've mentioned, but I don't know who they were though. The FA/England national side are absolutely shameless and Southgate himself is a hypocritical shit!'
Also this 'Okay I’ve ventured down the England eligibility rabbit hole. I’m fully prepared for a debate with any gammon who wades in with ‘the Welsh lads are all English’. I think it’s clear who pinches the most players - Jamaica & Ireland have been absolutely cleaned out of having a potentially top class side by England. From their recent call ups... Alexander-Arnold - USA Kane, Maddison, Grealish, Maguire, Keane, Phillips, Rice - Ireland Sterling, Walker, Maitland-Niles, C.Wilson, Greenwood, Oxlade-Chamberlain-Chamberlain, Rose - Jamaica Mings - Barbados Rashford - St Kitts & Nevis Delph - Guyana Sancho - Trinidad & Tobago Tomori - Canada/Nigeria Abraham & Barkley - Nigeria Hudson-Odoi - Ghana Gomez - Gambia Dier - Portugal Winks - Spain'
He’s just talking a load of shite to look good in front of his Welsh buddies, probably looking for reps! I wouldn’t waste your time reading those forums tbh as there’re so anti-English that they manage to convince themselves that they have developed all those players which is mainly a load of nonsense, trust me, I’ve had those conversations with them, bunch of deluded people. Also shows how clueless he is if he thinks all those players should have played for those Countries, lmfao!
So two triple headers coming up. Excessive. Pretty much a waste of time, especially considering how Southgate used these two games. Gareth Southgate's England will have triple headers in October and November - with a game against New Zealand at Wembley now announced pic.twitter.com/st5mKa905f— Rob Harris (@RobHarris) September 9, 2020
Actually excited about 6 games in 2 months. A chance for a few players to get experience. Im also sure saka will get a call up. Im sure there's one or two players that will pop up out of nowhere like maybe Ben White. Maybe nketiah. Love to see a game with maddison and grealish starting together
