BC men opt out for fall: https://www.nesoccerjournal.com/why-boston-college-mens-soccer-is-opting-out-of-the-2020-acc-season/ "BC was slated to play its season-opener Oct. 2 against Syracuse, with the ACC moving to a six-game schedule."
On the BS "All-Star" team, I'll take the over in heat strokes, fake injuries, strains, pulls, complaints and double-digit goals allowed.
We're holding a fundraiser at IU this weekend. "Thousands of miles away at Indiana University, 75 percent of the school’s Greek houses are now under quarantine—and officials on Thursday said they wanted all fraternity and sorority houses shut down on its Bloomington campus. Citing “an increasingly alarming” rate of positive test results—including a staggering 50 percent positive testing rate in some houses—officials said they now “believe Greek houses are not safe given the pandemic conditions and the current spread of COVID-19.” “Given the Greek housing structure, avoiding close contact with residents who may carry the virus is virtually impossible,” the university tweeted. “Dorms are not seeing the level of positivity rates that are being found in Greek houses.” There are 2,600 students in 42 communal living houses at IU, a university spokesman told The Daily Beast, including 40 fraternity and sorority houses, in which 30 are currently under quarantine." Okay, maybe not this weekend, but soon.
Then there's this: "PSU football doctor: 30-35 percent of COVID-19-positive Big Ten athletes had myocarditis" https://www.centredaily.com/sports/college/penn-state-university/psu-football/article245448050.html
They aren't telling. https://www.espn.com/college-sports...arly-half-power-5-disclose-covid-19-test-data
Regarding the claim that 30-35% of Big Ten athletes have been discovered to have heart conditions linked to Covid-19: It was incorrect. Looks like the Sun Belt is going with a double round-robin (like they have any other options). https://goccusports.com/sports/mens-soccer/schedule/2020
Central Arkansas had previously released several schedule versions, and has now updated to match CCU's. Georgia State has also released a schedule. Both Central Arkansas and Georgia State have non-conference matches scheduled, with GSU playing a home-and-home with Mercer of the Southern Conference. All other non-conference matches are vs. Conference USA schools.
UAB also has a schedule up. Since Conference USA moved its fall sports to the spring, the conference matches are shown as postponed. But, in a twist, UAB has roadies (not designated as conference matches) scheduled for South Carolina and Kentucky. Since all three of these schools have shown up on Sun Belt schedules, they appear to be trying to play at least some matches in the fall. UAB really loads up, with 10 non-conference matches scheduled. Visits to Clemson and Wake Forest are there, so maybe the ACC will allow non-conference matches as long as they are the hosts. UAB also has home-and-homes with three of the four Sun Belt schools (CCU is apparently going to only play its 6 SBC matches).
We have an ACC schedule! Clemson confirms the UAB game, and will also vist South Carolina. Otherwise, the Tigers have scheduled an exhibition at Virginia and six ACC matches -- including home-and-homes with North Carolina and Wake Forest. Duke and NC State are the only other opponents.
Louisville has an 8-game schedule posted, with two exhibitions vs. Notre Dame and Pitt. Louisville visits Kentucky and will host Wake Forest in a non-conference match. Louisville has a home-and-home with Notre Dame, visits Virginia and Syracuse and hosts Pitt and Virginia Tech.
NC State has exhibitions vs. Duke and North Carolina, a non-conference match vs. Navy, home-and-homes vs. Duke and Wake Forest and matches vs. North Carolina and Clemson.
Syracuse also plays Navy and visits Virginia in a non-conference match. In conference play, Syracuse has a home-and-home with Pitt, hosts Louisville and Virginia and visits Notre Dame and Va. Tech.
Duke has posted a home-and-home, non-conference series with Kentucky, and a conference schedule with home-and-homes with NC State and North Carolina, a visit to Clemson and a home match with Wake.
North Carolina has no non-conference matches scheduled. They have the aforementioned home-and-homes with Clemson and Duke, a roadie with Wake and a home tilt with NC State.
This is today's ACC release, which is why all these schedules are dropping. ACC Announces Fall Olympic Sports Schedules https://t.co/zHv8h7CwRn— RPI Update (@RpiUpdate) September 4, 2020
Pitt looks like it has some mistakes on its schedule. They're listing the 9/19 match vs. Louisville as a regular-season contest, while Louisville lists it as an exhibition. Also, Pitt lists every match as conference...but the ACC is only counting 6 matches for conference. Since the Syracuse home-and-home is confirmed by Syracuse, the first match with Notre Dame must be non-conference. The ACC will be non-division, but schools will stay in their own region (North or South). So, in the 6-team North, each school will play each other once with one home-and-home. In the 5-team South, there will necessarily be two home-and-homes.
It was mentioned above that Syracuse and Virginia had a non-conference match lined up. According to Virginia, it's an exhibition. Virginia's home-and-home is with Virginia Tech. No non-conference matches.
