FT 1-1 (the ball was in goal at the very last action, but the action had been already stopped for off-side).

    Quite entertaining game.

Many interesting players. I was liking Narumiya better when she was sporting longer hair. :p

I especially liked Miho Manya for Vegalta: solid defensive performance and at the same time she helped building the offensive action and overlapped with dangerous crosses. If I remember well, she had made Senior NT for a few games some years ago and I read she's still 23: since we recently said that we miss good Left-Backs (Sameshima can't be eternal, although I'd like that), I have to say I wouldn't mind giving Manya another try, even if she plays in the club that's currently last-placed in Nadeshiko League.

    Fair result in the end.

Imagine the Nadeshiko League did not have INAC, Urawa or Beleza? Imagine how even it would be!

And made even more entertaining by the commentary.

For me as a non speaker all I need from a commentator is player identification (who is on the ball) so I do not have to flick backwards and forwards from the team web sites to the game every time I want to find out who No 8 is for example.
    This lady was brilliant.
Am fine with Beleza INAC and most of the Reds but other than the 'famous' names in the other teams it's a struggle.
Thank you commentator...who ever you are.

ps agree with you Bliss I thought Fukuta Sumida was working well surprised Yui Fukuta came off.

Wow, things are definitely moving in Division 2, for a change: Sfida Setagaya's first loss is huge! So far they had won 3 games and drew 1, with a goal difference of +9 (10 goals scored, to 1 against). And now, all of a sudden, they lose at home to an apparently middle-of-the-rankings team (that's actually now at 3rd place, having leapfrogged Chifure, that was held on a draw by Nippatsu).

It's also very interesting that Setagaya were winning 1-0, then, between 84' and 90'+2' the score was reversed!

AS Harima Albion are grateful, since they can now enjoy solitary leadership.

I have Kojima on just 3 goals: a previous brace and today's one. :cautious:

It was Orca's Nagashima, instead, who had a brace yesterday and catched up with both her and Chiba at 3 goals.

Gert Engels in INAC may be an interim choice as Rina Yanai just started year long course for A-Pro licence which would mean she may be INAC head coach in WE League next year.

Full list of A-pro course participants (A-pro licence is on par with S licence which in turn is on par with UEFA Pro) here

Wow, this 1-10 score dampened even best Nadeshiko Digest's intentions! They sure were set up to show all of the goals from each week, but obviously those 11 goals weren't allowed in the format!

It's good that this year we have the full YouTube videos of the matches to make up for any possible missing goals (anyway I had seen most of them live: only missed the pair that had happened while I was finishing seeing Nojima-INAC).

By the way, a pet peeve of mine is the way goals are written on the scoreboard. If I remember well, in my youth they were credited to the minute that had been concluded at that point; now it looks like they're credited to the minute the game is within at that moment. As an exemple: Kobayashi's goal was scored when the clock was reading 1'09"; the chyron on the screen and, later, Nadeshiko League website say it was scored at 2".
I can see that, in fact, at 1'09" we were indeed within the second minute of the game, but is this the convention we use in other life-situations? If Aya Sameshima is born in June 1987 and we're now in August 2020, she's technically in her 34th year of life, but we use to say she's 33 years old, not 34!

Is there any rule recently (i.e., in the latest 20 years or such :p) introduced in football stating that you have to refer to the minute you are within?

Anyway, back to the Goal of the Week chart. I am sorry for Jun Endo, because at least a pair of the goals she scored looked good, but I can't manage to take them seriously, with Cerezo's defense in standstill like traffic cones and the impression given of a session of shooting practice.

    So, my trio is:

    1) Sawako Yasumoto in Mynavi Vegalta Sendai Ladies vs JEF United Ichihara Chiba Ladies (the control and the shoot were nice, but what really set the goal apart in my eyes was the way Hamada managed to hook the cross and to turn it into an assist in the center of the box).

    2) Nanami Kitamura in Cerezo Osaka Sakai Girls vs Nippon TV Tokyo Verdy Beleza (it's not much of a consolation, but I've got the impression that the only goal scored by Cerezo in the game was the most beautiful one: the speed of the action, the wide range of the assist, the control and shot by Kitamura; it's been said that Shimizu had been distracted by the celebrations of Doko's goal, that had just happened, but it was an action that managed to pierce the powerful defense-line of Beleza nonetheless).

    3) As usual, I was torn for my third place: I was tempted by Mizutani's shot, that was indeed a beauty, but in the end I'll go with Hasegawa. You could say it has basically the same problem as Endo's ones, but actually it was "just" the 5th goal and Cerezo's defense was not as devastated yet as it would have been later: the team was somehow still in the game. The passing in that action was fluid, accurate and beautiful to see, but what I especially liked (and I am not sure I would have had the luxury to see it from the Digest's highlights if they had showed that goal) was the fact that Hasegawa both started the action and concluded it: you can see her elegantly juggle with the ball in the midfield, then opening the game on her right-side with a long drive and finally making a run to the center of the box while the action was developing, getting there perfectly in time to shoot and convert).

Now, this post has more Japanese goalscorers than a Beleza match ...well, nearly.

WK-League: An assist by Nanase Kiryu in round 10 set up Korea's Shin Ye-rim to equalize with Seoul, and set Changnyeong WFC towards a 2-1 win. They went briefly into 4th place, before they lost 1-0 to the champions Incheon in terrible wet conditions, so CWFC are back in 6th.

Bad weather too at Suwon for their important game - I believe South Korea had its longest monsoon season on record, about 53 days - although the pitch was made drier after half-time. Madoka Haji's team (3rd) had a surprise home loss to Hwacheon KSPO, who are now 4th, and only 3 points outside a playoff place.

For Hwacheon, Yoshimi Natsuki was the captain again, and Fumina Katsurama had a very dramatic match - she made it 1-0 from Natsuki's through-ball after 13½ minutes

But the goalscorer gave away a penalty (86') that was scored by Suwon's Lee Eun-mi
    youtube.com/watch?v=2dYFsrpJ_30&t=1h45m35s

Less than a minute afterwards, Katsurama made it a 2-1 away win for Hwacheon with an inspired shot

Asuna Tanaka was Gyeongju's matchwinner nearby in Seoul, with an 87th-minute header in their 2-1 win. They remain in 2nd, as the league takes a couple of weeks' break.

New Zealand, NRFL: Three successive games with Rina Hirano and Arisa Takeda on the scoresheet for Western Springs - a goal each v lower-placed teams in the northern league, and a very credible draw at Auckland United, a new club formed by a merger. Springs came from 2-0 down, Takeda played a bit further forward at right midfield this time, and joined striker Hirano as the central front duo late in the game. But it was Rina Hirano who stole the show with 2 goals and frequent attacking threat. The match report (9 Aug) was posted on Scousekiwi's site.

Then!! [IMG] Auckland went into lockdown on 12 Aug, after more coronavirus cases were found in the city, four months after the first quarantine that delayed the start of the season. Football won't return for a few weeks, at least, and it's unclear whether this will shorten the season.

Wow, a match with a Katsurama's brace! :geek: This is sure worth celebrating! :):notworthy::)

And both shots were actually things of beauty: a first-touch crossed masterpiece of accuracy and a powerful missile to the far seven! I am almost asking Takakura to take note for NT consideration... :whistling:

Talking about the coronavirus, I am aware that South Korea was one of the countries that managed to best keep it control, but you can't really say that the after-goal celebrations were particularly covid-aware there: Fumina Katsurama was basically crushed into the wet grass for an entire minute with a pile of team-mates over her, after the second goal! :D

I guess you should indicate whch one of the pair of Kobayashi's goal from that match you mean. Unless we can assume you mean the same that was already voted by others.
