Well there are plenty of good teams in IL that would be willing to play each other...didn't need to shut everything down because Iowa can't get their shit together.
DL hired as Girls Director of Coaching at Eclipse West. Could this spell a mass migration from TC to Eclipse West?
I know a lot of the 05 team has moved to other clubs already. https://www.eclipseselect.org/2020/...t-girls-director-of-coaching-dave-lovercheck/
If they let literally anybody else that meets the metrics it would shake up the area...but they wont monopoly > competition.
I don’t see it getting ECNL status just yet, but could definitely become a pathway to to guesting on ECNL roster in OB or NB
I don't see why Eclipse wouldn't. The area has always been hot as hell. They would stupid not to. Looks like TC is just another club now - doubt they come back from this. They hired DT from CSA for the 05 Prem Team and she likes to have 14 year olds and older spend 30 minutes on World Cup at the end of every session - that's u8 crap. All her sessions are just lines of players standing there doing some sort of give and go. Hell I seen players just walk out of line and start juggling the ball on a separate field altogether! I cannot think that hiring her to run any teams is a good sign that the people there have a clue what they are doing.
TC is rebranding the Wheatland Soccer program as TC Jrs. IMO this was a hugely under utilized asset for TC. If they can actually develop those kids playing there instead of just ignoring them they would have a nice pipeline.
I think they have lost the majority of their top players Galaxy and Eclipse. Campton is talking to 2 and there are 3 on the CSA Super Y team with parents telling CSA parents that its a complete shit show over there. If their rebuild is to hire coaches like DT - I would not expect much.
IYSA just said out of state soccer not allowed. How many clubs are registering in Indiana today? https://illinoisyouthsoccer.demosphere-secure.com/_files/IYSA RTA Phase 4 Version 2.pdf
I mean Eclipse had a satellite team in NWI the last few years...they could theoretically do some loophole jumping.
For those clubs that took Illinois PPE $ (smp 350k eclipse 150k galaxy 150 K Chicago City 150K etc) - registering out of state could get tricky ..... I'm sure the parents will be understanding though
https://www.illinoispolicy.org/who-in-illinois-received-ppp-loans/ nwsl got between 1-2 million as well not quite as stressful to run a buisness during a pandemic when you know the gov't has all your salaries covered I guess thats the logic in keeping the fees the same
Yeah that's sort of ridiculous. I wonder what spending commitments they had that they could not back out of to need that much.
TC has the financial backing of Wheatland Athletic Association (big budget) which took no PPP money. They cutback coaching salaries but hired some decent ones. It's a reboot and focused on younger age development and philosophy. I think they will be fine. Galaxy has chipped away at them but some of that is because South naperville is closer to a larger population with right demographic age wise and earning potential
I heard some positive TC feedback already on Albert who was hired from Soccers as Director of Recruiting.
He seems to know everyone in the college scene. And is quick to meet with players/parents and prvide feedback. He will be attending practices also which is a big thing for players who are looking at next level, given lack of games also.
It is sort of puzzling how some clubs, got PPP money, let coaches go and kept all players fees paid in advance, without offering refunds when the season was suspended. Add to this not having to pay for refs or field rentals for the spring and the 2019-20 season is going to be one of the most profitable ones for some of the clubs on that list!
Maybe the money is being used to replace lost revenue from tournaments they were scheduled to host. There are some clubs that offset a lot of their annual expenses with profits from events. A few on that list typically have spring tournaments.
