What do you make of Brandan Craig? Will you be able to hold on to him or is Europe going to grab him (Liverpool had a look)?

    Brandan's on Union2, a 2004 CB

U2 need all the help they can get. They are a disaster.

A disaster? Mark McKenzie, Austin Trusty, Brendan Aaronson, Matt Real, Anthony Fontana, and Jack de Vries all started their professional careers with Bethlehem Steel/Union 2. That's hardly what anyone would call a disaster.

Union 2's purpose is not to win games, it's to develop players for the Union first team.

They used to do that, dev and win/compete. They aren’t doing that now. Are you paying attention to them at all?

Yes. They lost 3-2 in their second game. They have a new coach as Brendan Burke was promoted to a position in the scouting department. The team's average age is like 20.

They are developing players. Winning isn't the main priority for a development team.

Do you watch the games or just look at the box score from afar and make assumptions?

They lost something like 15-3 in the last 3 matches and 2 of them were home.

Will they move to League 1 next season? Wasn't that supposed to be the future to move those DA focused groups to a difference league so they aren't all playing against grown men?

Not sure why people are jumping on you guys, U2 has looked awful to start this season, and while they're obviously not designed to win, getting blown out every game isn't exactly promising for developing talent.

I've been curious about them as well, perhaps one of the reasons they are playing so bad is because the Union backups are in the bubble in Orlando. Guys like Fontana, De Vries, Real are playing 0 minutes when they might be starting for U2. Just a thought? I'm not sure how the current players on U2 compare to up-and-coming academy players or really who they are at all, I'm not familiar with any of them except for the one who is signed on a pre-contract with the Union.

Not a great sign when you part ways an hour before your (old) team wins their first game.

Hearing tomorrow’s Union 2 game scheduled at Red Bull II will be their third straight to be postponed. The next match on the schedule is home against Atlanta United 2 on Sept. 2.
