Time to move on from the pandemic short season. Joel Veltman is off to the EPL signing with Brighton and Hove Albion. He would have moved earlier had it not been for the knee injury a couple of years ago. Major salute to him for the service he put in and his choice to wear #34 at this new club.

Does this mean Per Schuurs will be starter come the new season.

Don't know. It could be Edson Alvarez with Schuurs possibly moving to the left side depending on Blind's health.

Is Martinez locked into the holding midfield role or is it possible he gets some time as a center back as well?

  5. Mitchel Bakker from Young Ajax bench to PSG left back.
Thomas Tüchel seems very fond of him. Now playing the French cup final.

What’s exactly Eredivisie comeback? Does the league will resume? It’s exhibition matches? Can someone answer this please?

    thanks

Does Noa lang has a future at Ajax. Im seriously wondering with the new arrivals he will get game time. I really want to see this guy in the midfield. Something like Ox Chamberlain at Pool.

    Match day

  11. By the way.
If Memphis manages to win the CL with Lyon Ajax has to go into the pre rounds, like AZ.
The same goes with Napoli. If they eliminate Barcelona and win the CL, it means pre round matches too for Ajax.
It would be amazing if this happens, because the odds of either to lift the Cup are slim.

  12. Ryan Sessegnon from The Totally Hotshits is being mentioned by The Telegraph as being wanted by Ajax for a loan.
That would be utterly stupid. Why pay a club money to take care of their player they bought?
Give a Dutch talent playtime or a player you own yourself.

Looks ten Hag might view him as Tagliafico’s replacement.

Good to see the club back in action. First time for me this preseason. Quite an easy walk over Utrecht 5-1 with a hat trick from Labyad. He had two great free kicks for scores. I think he is much better than Ziyech in this category and the only player in Europe who is better is Messi. Schuurs had a fine match on defense with some key interventions. Mazraoui conceded a penalty kick that was missed with one of the weakest attempts I've ever seen. No goals in the 2nd half. I would also point to a fine match from Noa Lang who played under control and set thing up great from the left wing as Anthony did from the right side in the first half.

I'm liking this team to do well and hope everyone stays!!

Antony looks like a good signing so far (considering the price). And yeah, Labyad is definitely impressing with his free kicks in these past few friendlies (two goals today and a spectacular one in the first friendly that just missed and struck the post).

Noa Lang is an interesting player. he is one player I will be keeping the tabs on this season . he is all rounded with exceptional technical abilities. again I would like to see this guy in the midfield [something] like Coutinho. I think LW belongs to Dilrousn and Adekanye when they hit the ground rolling in NT

Suarez to Ajax rumors are picking up... WOW. This would be an incredible signing for a few reasons.

    1. This team needs a killer 9. I think it really held them back last year.
    2. I'm not sold on Trarore. I don't think he's Ajax First Team quality. Brobbery seems like a special talent and this would bridge the gap until he is ready.
    3. This would be a MAJOR statement to guys like Donny, Nico and Onana that Ajax is serious about CL. Keep those 3 for a year, sign a DM and this team is ready for another huge CL run.

Ajax won't sign Suarez because the money is not there. As long as the pandemic keeps the Arena half empty, the club as with other Eredivisie teams will lose game day income. Suarez will want a high salary and multi-year contract. As Arsene Wenger pointed out a lot of years ago, you should never sign a player over 30 years of age. Huntelaar came in on a modest salary and one year contract which has been renewed.

I see no evidence that ten Hag is going to change his strategy of using Tadich as a false #9.

Yeah but Ajax can offer a bonus, one last chance at CL and if he wants the MLS/oil money, it'll be there after a year with Ajax.

Suarez has made loads of money. This might be his last chance to make a run in Europe before he gets his final huge pay day. Plus no one will match what he's making at Barca.

I doubt he will settle for a one year contract at €2M. It will send the wrong message to a lot of players if it is more than that. I always go by what Arsene Wenger always said. Never bring in a player over the age of 30.

  23. Except for Robin van Persie.

Wenger brought him to Arsenal when he was 21 years old.
