This dude Matthew Wolff continues to do great work... https://matthewwolff.com/portfolio/logos/ If you're a professional soccer team in North America with a mediocre crest, why would you NOT hire this guy??
San Diego USL: https://www.sandiegouniontribune.co...st-landon-donovan-warren-smith-torero-stadium I like the colors, and even much of the crest, but not the name... it makes more sense for a supporters group. Obligatory explanation for every detail of the crest:
They're trying to appeal to a fan base still hurting and angry from the Chargers leaving. I'm not a huge fan of the name, although the itself is growing on me.
Chicago Fire SC are now Chicago Fire SC and they have a terrible logo and RSL ripoff colors to go along with the new name.... It seems like almost no one is happy with the new crest, which makes sense because it looks like it was designed by an amateur... https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019...identity-inspired-story-and-spirit-chicagoans
My bottom four crests in MLS right now, from worst to least objectionable: 1. Chicago Fire FC 2. Nashville SC 3. New England Revolution 4. San Jose Earthquakes
Let's be honest, there is a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge gap between SJ and NE. There is an even bigger gap between NE and Nashville because at least the Revs have nearly a quarter century of history behind that logo. But as a (potentially former) Fire fan, that new monstrosity is a goddamn disaster. We had arguably the best logo in the league. It's just like the fortunes on the field and front office, but about a decade behind...
CLT! CLT! CLT! pic.twitter.com/Mpde0XJ3EC— Charlotte FC (@CharlotteFC) July 22, 2020 One more. Now I'm done. Charlotte Town FC. Add the Interlocking Letters. And rotate the text 90 degrees which makes the circle crest less traditional (and feels coin-like to me). https://t.co/UbiQaJJUvE pic.twitter.com/ePHDZj4ZtV— Mike Pendleton (@phat7deuce) July 22, 2020
Ugh So boring and generic. Those 5 minute redesigns are significantly better. I agree on the crown seeming to be more "king" than "queen." Also, when I read CLT, I think
That’s good, that’s damn good... Ugh, fine, if we have to, but only because @LansingMIFacts wouldn't let us get away with not explaining it. pic.twitter.com/qqjnFQDe7b— Lansing Common FC (@lansingcommonfc) July 27, 2020 Not even sure what level this is... remember Lansing previously had the Ignite, but they combusted at the end of 2019 Official club statement: pic.twitter.com/yA7K5FEaGk— Lansing Ignite (@lansingignite) October 21, 2019

Redesigned St Louis logo from Reddit: https://reddit.com/r/MLS/comments/i9ew9k/fixed_the_stlsc_crest/ I prefer the short-lived “AC St Louis” crest and colors... they should have just bought that branding for a couple thousand dollars. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_St._Louis
Not sure this was ever posted... #NewProfilePic pic.twitter.com/U98wLLDLGO— Racing Louisville FC (@RacingLouFC) July 8, 2020
That alternate logo from Reddit is sweet! It's got a sense of balance to it that the official logo doesn't. The old ACSTL was nice for what it was, and I'm certainly going to miss the green from it and STLFC, but I think the current color combination pops really nicely. Plus, ACSTL itself brings back painful memories.

Speaking of... The Chicago Fire are getting a new badge...again. From what I'm hearing, it will be *slightly* better than the current, but still a far cry from the original or even the lantern badge.
