Figured I'd start this up because things have kicked off today. Freiburg started looking at him sometime after last season. Then, apparently Taylor Twellman said there's strong interest from Germany for Aaronson on tonight's broadcast. I'm not on that feed so I don't know if that's exactly what he said. And Transfermarkt is reporting Hoffenheim, Monchengladbach and Frankfurt are also monitoring. So it seems that German interest is definitely there. https://www.transfermarkt.us/news/view?id=365982
after hearing the kai havertz comps i rolled my eyes heavily, but then in perusing the niternet i found this article about havertz https://totalfootballanalysis.com/player-analysis/kai-havertz-bayer-leverkusen-analysis does sound like and provide a bit of a roadmap for aaronson after all?
this thread from last season is also pretty nice. Aaronson is only 18, but he's in his third season of men's football. Let's look at his stats using a Bundesliga standard, since, honestly, if we were a smarterscout young prospect from the USA, that's where we'd want to go. He's already close to average for an AM!(1/4) pic.twitter.com/eZ3Ccq7Mwm— smarterscout (@smarterscout) October 8, 2019
kind of interesting seeing the goretzka comp because frankly a guy like aaronson is exactly what schalke is missing and the price would presumably right compared to what they could get for the same amount in europe?

Aarason's decision making making needs to catch up to that silky smooth first touch and slick passing ability. It's a clear notch below where Adam's was when he left for Europe. On his athleticism; it's nice to see that he's developed a nice 10 yard burst since coming into the MLS.

Posted this in the US Men's forum but Bild is reporting Eintract Frankfurt want to sign Brenden Aaronson. Bild is a pretty legit source... like best in Germany with Frankfurt calling Aaronson "The American Havertz" https://m.bild.de/bild-plus/sport/f....1&usqp=mq331AQFKAGwASA%3D&wt_t=1595598304538 So thoughts? Seems like Aaronson is somewhat of a forgotten prospect as in he isnt talked about much. But Gladbach, Freiburg, and Hoffenheim are all rumored as well, Frankfurt is the strongest link
I don’t agree at all with the Havertz comparison but Frankfurt would be a perfect place for Brendan to go. Everyone should be behind that move
FWIW there is a thread in the academy forum on this. *Not trying to get in a debate about the appropriate forum location for such a thread.
Didn't see this thread when I made the one in the main. But as I said there I feel like many underrate Aaronson as a prospect. The Frankfurt link seems pretty strong per Bild and they're as reliable as you can get with German news. And if word is to be believed, Frankfurt is going to be forced to sell some players so getting a young cheap player would make sense for them
@bungadiri When you get around to combining the Aaronson threads ... The American Havertz: Brenden Aaronson at Eintracht Frankfurt

unrelated but s/o to @ShaftBrewer for triggering all this. some would classify such behavior as an “influencer”
