Or to Colorado, either. No wonder we've got hotspots in the mountain towns.

I think they've found that the virus can cause brain or lung damage even in those who appear asymptomatic.

That very joke was a Polish joke in my junior high. I thought it was pretty funny at that time. I've told it to my wife a couple of times, substituting Lithuanians for Poles. She wasn't terribly amused.

And if we're thinking of the same test, it's a tad invasive.

The saliva test, or the swab test? Saliva test isn't invasive at all and is something that will allow for "home" tests. Just spit into a vial, seal it, then send it off to a lab to be tested.

I found out that only one of my neighbors has COVID 19. The 40-something Mom is asymptomatic. Her 20-something daughter is alright. However, the parents of the Mother are both in the hospital after they tested positive. Fortunately, they are said to be doing well in the small-town hospital where they live. The man's sister however, is in one of the hospitals in Springfield and is said to be fighting a bout of pneumonia along with the virus. :(

I went to 3 stores today. At Ace Hardware, I was the only person wearing a mask. None of the employees or other customers were masked up. At CVS Pharmacy, all employees and 90% of the customers were masked. At Dollar General, all employees and about 90% of the customers were masked. I'm planning a trip Friday or Saturday to Wal-Mart and Aldi's, which have mask requirements. In the past, the compliance has been better at Aldi's, so we'll see. Any way you cut it, I think this is going to get worse before it gets better.

Yeah, my dad grew up in Chicago, and I found that a lot of the blonde jokes we told in school, he head heard them as Polish jokes growing up in Chicago.

Pretty clearly, since almost every state is now halfway open, or more, with reversals coming slowly. And if there is one thing that the past 2 months have demonstrated, it is that halfway open leads to spread rather than containment.

    Hope they pull through.

I was at that blue big box store today where masks were supposed to be required, but there was no enforcement. Even a few employees were not wearing masks. And what I saw, it was not one demographic. It was young, old, and in between. It was Black, Latino, White. Not a lot, maybe about 10%, but not stragglers.

In the UK we had a prime-time stand-up comedy show which mainly featured Irish and immigrant jokes.

The Irish from the island of Ireland are a self-deprecating bunch (unlike Irish- Americans) and appreciate an Irish joke, even if it's told by an English man.

The immigrant jokes though were just out there racist.

How the F does a mask mandate hurt businesses?

It could either cause the business to add staff to work the entrance(s) to ensure people are wearing masks, it could result in lost sales as a person who isn't wearing a mask is booted from the store and doesn't return for whatever reason, or it could deter people from going to the store entirely.

    Bring it on!!

Remember to wear a mask and keep a 10 ft distance. At half time I'll defer and grill some small zucchini, sliced lengthwise, as a ruse.

Took me a second to realize that was a nose swab that made me feel uncomfortable, and not the other kind of swab that made me feel uncomfortable.

Looking at it closely, I think I probably should've used the spoiler feature.
